I fell in love with this place! Our room was spacious and comfortable and had a lake view balcony... what a wonderful view! The restaurant has great service, the host is wonderful and the food delicious. Chetola Resort is within walking distance to the Blowing Rock Historic Downtown,  10 min drive to Appalachian Mountain, 10 min drive to Mystery Hill, and the roads to the resort are well maintained and safe. Service was great from left to right, everybody was nice and helpful. First time visiting and definitely not last.

nights and,3 breakfast meals from the buffet. Food was average, waitress was good. Rooms were clean but kind of small. Big bathrooms, vanity mirror didn't work. Several fireplaces around the Lodge to sit and relax. No VCR in the room. Don't know if I'd go back again, kind of pricey.

We have eaten and stayed there before but this last weekend they were off their game. At first they could not find our reservation, they did. The rooms are clean and beautiful views, but for a nice resort/spa  they offered no robes in the rooms. Also they were on limited fitness classes, because of the season. The campfire and smores were wonderful. Our breakfast buffet was okay, our waiter just never came back to check on us or refill our coffee. On Sunday we decided to order off the menu, our waiter didn't tell us till they brought out our food that they don't have rye bread ?? So of course our toast came half way through our breakfast. It would have been nice for him to have told us this when we placed our order that they only offer white or wheat. Our dinner on Sat. night we ordered a bottle of wine, when she brought it to the table we noticed it was not the one we ordered she checked with the bartender and the fact that it was from the same company they thought it would be okay. Really???Without telling us this? 
The hostess at breakfast was very sweet but someone really should tell her if she is going to be a hostess she needs to shower/wash her hair, it was bad Saturday morning but Sunday was really needing attention. We are chalking it up to this must have been the second string because they were just off their game.

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at Chetola .   We did not know what to expect,  the goal of the visit was to check out Blowing Rock and surrounding areas for future vacations and horse back riding in Moses Cone park.  We had spent the week before at The Grove Park inn in Ashville N.C.  I found Chetola to be nicer both the rooms and grounds.   This would be a great place to bring kids with all of the amenities.  Lake, indoor pool,  playgrounds and walking paths.   We will be staying there again.   I am not a skier but the ski mountain was about 5 minutes away from the hotel.   The breakfast was great, buffet style with lots of hot and cold options.   A+

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Beautiful rooms, Super helpful staff, and Just such a beautiful setting! The Timberlake's Restaurant is fantastic. Delicious food and amazing beers. The Cavendish Brewery beer was SO good! A must try. I hope they keep that one on.
