Cheyenne KOA Journey

About

Cheyenne KOA campground in Cheyenne Wyoming. Home of the worlds' largest rodeo & Frontier Days. Offering level pull through sites for rv's & motorhomes plus camping cabins & tent sites. Located just off Interstate 80 at exit 367 east of I 25.

Story

Settle in at this KOA sprawling across the rolling High Plains on the Front Range of the Rockies. Mosey into Cheyenne, "The Magic City of the Plains," to explore a legendary cow town and Wyoming's capital city. Browse the Frontier Days Old West Museum or stop at Holliday Park to see Old Number 4004, one of the world's largest railroad steam engines. Take a tour of the city and discover Cheyenne's colorful history as a railroad and cowpoke town. "Live the Legend" as Cheyenne celebrates its history with a Western celebration in July that is known as the world's largest outdoor rodeo (the "daddy of 'em all"). Nearby, you can fish at two reservoirs or hike, climb and see the wonderful rock formations in Medicine Bow National Forest. Then happily return to your KOA retreat for a swim, mini golf and a blissful night under the Western stars.

Clean facilities, noisy because it’s next to the freeway. Really noisy. It was earl spring, so the water to the small sites wasn’t on. All we needed was five minutes to fill our tanks, but we were told no that would cost more. So we spent 50 dollars for a site with out Water? Seems like they cater to long term stays, don’t care about vacationers. We won’t be staying here again.

Clean, well-maintained facilities. Friendly staff. They try to make sure you have a pleasant stay. There is a swimming pool, an outside kitchen, and restrooms. Camping spots have wind shelters. In a windy state like Wyoming, those are nice to have. Open year-round. Book well in advance for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Located right off the Interstate. Great directional signs to find the campground.

Clean, friendly, helpful, nice big sites. The only issue I have is the price $52.48 for a night after the KOA discount. This site is among many warehouse, 18 wheelers, traffic and trains.

I live in RV parks for the majority of the year while working. This KOA is a great place to stay. The restrooms and showers are clean and they have done the shower right by having an actual shower stall. The lots are crushed gravel and clean with electric (30/50 amps), water, and some lots have sewer if you need it. The only "issue" I had was that the lots were very plain, no real landscaping or separation between lots, so it looked like you were parked in a parking lot, but thats all cosmetics. Other than that, great place!
