Really poor customer service today. I called for a quote on framing lumber for a project I'm working on my own. "Karon" said I needed to email my materials list. I felt like she was irritated that I called. I emailed right away, and asked about buying a couple beams but wanted their suggestion on size for a larger span. I received a quote that was $150+ more than Lowes and Home Depot (and that doesn't count the discount they are quoting me from the stores). In addition, Karon did not respond to my question about beams, saying "I'd need more information to answer your qeustion." What information? When I sent a follow-up and asked if they could give me a discount given the higher pricing (I preferred to buy through a local company), she said "We would have to see their quote before considering any price match." That's it. No call, no explanation. I guess if you don't have your contractor's license they are not interested in your business. I had high hopes for Chinook. I doubt the owner would be pleased with how his employees are treating potential customers. **I revised my 1 star review up to 3 stars after a manager contacted me to follow up on the issue.**

If i could i would give this place negative stars. I would never reccomend this place to anyone. Not only are they over priced but they are rude and careless when it comes to other peoples property. On several occasions they have damaged customers vehicles then try to say it was the customers fault when they are the one loading it. They yard manager threatens customers when things dont go his way and all around he has no business working with people. I heard him tell a customer he was gonna kick his ass. And banned the customer after damaging his truck and say they weren't going to pay for it. Everytime i have been there, there is always a problem. They constantly screw up orders or they are arguing with a customer or damaging customers vehicles. I will never buy from them again. And the yard manager needs to be fired. I have been in customer service for 16 years and would never treat customers the way they do. It is disgusting and so disrespectful. if these employees keep acting rhe way they do, that company is going to fail.

Excellent staff, good quality products, one of my go to places that seem to always get it right.

I purchased a hammer and they delivered the wrong one, I sent it back with the delivery driver and had to make a trip to town to pick up the right hammer the next day and had to pay an additional $11. When I went to use it for the very first time, it broke right off at the head. I called and talked to John at the Arlington store and he told me in a condescending tone "It's not a pry bar". He never would have spoken to a man that way. I was angered and called the Snohomish store where I had placed my order. The manager there was very helpful and arranged for me to pick up another hammer. When I went to get it John tried to charge me another $10, which would have been about a $50 hammer. His attitude was no better today than it had been towrads me the day before. I will NEVER go to that store again. Nothing about my experience was good at the Arlington Chinook Lumber Store. Also the wood is full of knots and fairly green.
