As I travel the country collecting data for future articles, I was excited to learn that our next stop was Roswell NM and the Truck Stop in question has some "good oh boy" history. It was "The Place".
The years haven't been kind to it, up keep appears to be challenged but what was most concerning was the night help we encountered...not only was this woman rude to my driver but without hesitation, talked down to the other employee.... perhaps she was having a bad day or even a bad week, but none the less, not one welcoming thought entered my mind.
For folks that are in the service industry, having good people represent your business is a must.

My kids and I ate at the restaurant and I just have to say.... You better be hungry.   The menu reflected home cooked meals and plenty of it.  The pancakes were huge.  The young waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Great food and wonderful service. The waitress was very friendly. This is one of my favorite places to go on a Saturday morning for breakfast.

It's a great mid way stop for picking up what you need. It has everything. The food isn't bad either. And for as many times as I have been there, they have great service.

They had some great Roswell gear like tshirts, bumper stickers and the like. There seemed to be a cafe attached though we didn't visit it. I was just excited to be in Roswell though the cashier seemed less than happy at my chatty nature. She probably gets tourists in all day every day so no biggie.
