The food was delicious, the wait staff was attentive, they were able to fit us in quickly without a reservation. Everything was top notch. But.... The dinner menu prices were far higher than those listed in the online menu -- in the $30 to $50 range for an entree. I didn't subtract points for this because the quality (and quantity) of the food justified the menu prices. Nonetheless, if you're looking for an inexpensive dining experience, this is not the place to find it. Will we return? Absolutely, and soon.

Stay clear of this restaurant! Worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. The quality of the food does not match the high plate price of $36-$40 a plate. Our dinners were served almost immediately after the salads were served and when I mentioned this to the waitress twice she ignored my comment. The waitress failed to bring anything we asked for such as lemon or ground pepper for the salad, and then had the audacity to add on a 18.7% gratuity. I do not recommend this restaurant and will never eat there again.

Excellent restaurant with a family touch. Food is great and servers are friendly. When we dine out, it is often hard to find a good restaurant that knows how to cook seafood without overcooking it or smothering it with an overwhelming sauce. Choplin's gets it right every time. Recommend the blue-crab and spinach fondue appetizer, Scallop main dish (perfectly cooked), Fruit of the Sea if you want something with sauce, and the Halibut whenever they get in in.

Wish I could give it 6 stars!!!! Choplins has been our favorite Lake Norman restaurant (and maybe in all of the Charlotte area!) since our first visit 2 years ago. When you find a locally-owned place that CONSISTENTLY serves the highest quality, expertly prepared food, coupled with outstanding service - you just keep going back! The extensive menu is thoughtfully prepared and coupled with a very nice wine list. Just had another amazing evening last night, and will severely miss going here as we move away. This is indeed a gem, and I wish Wes Choplin the best of luck and success! We will miss you!!!! (And waiter Cory - makes the dining experience FUN!)
