We have been there several times when in town visit in in-laws.  I have always had good food and service with friendly staff. We have never been in the bar since we have kids but it looked happening and fun.  A favorite when in town and better than the large fancy chain Italian restaurants in Northern VA area.

Drove over 100 miles to meet with friends for a pre Christmas party. I’m a Registered Nurse. Prior to going spent my day wrapping presents for the homeless. A very emotional day. So many are less fortunate than I this time of year. It was very hard to be in a festive mood thinking of everyone I met in a Shelter with young children. Wish I could make it all better for them. 
I had 3 bottles of Heineken after happy hour started. Ate a full meal also while sitting at the bar, which was costly for what I got. Listened to one of the bar attendants complaining about having to work behind the bar and getting only $40 in tips at the end of the night after counting what was in her pockets a few days ago when she had to work.  Because when we first arrived it was only 4:30 and just a few customers present at the time. 
But I just listened. I know and realize they depend on tips as well as their wages. And I have no idea what problems they may have themselves. 
But I was no way at all intoxicated. And several people would admit that. But the embarrassment that barmaid put me through was totally unacceptable. 
She grabbed my just opened fourth Heineken off me in front of everyone at the bar and loudly said “I can’t serve you anymore because you are looking at the floor!!!!!!”  Yes I was looking at the floor. My head wasn’t on the bar, I wasn’t slurring my words or unable to walk a straight line. I was sober enough to drive. Just deep in thought of the day I had. Along with other thoughts of some sick people who may not see Christmas this year. 
I left in tears. Stopping in the bathroom to collect my thoughts. Wanted to go back and confront the young girl who obviously has no business serving alcohol and judging people because I wasn’t loud and laughing like many around me. She was young enough to be my daughter. That’s what kept me from making a scene. 
But after driving over 100 miles back home and rethinking the entire experience, I have to say something. She ruined my Christmas party. Ruined it for my boyfriend who took me their. And after giving it much thought, she needs talked to. I don’t want anyone going through the same embarrassing experience I did. And all to see people we consider close friends that because of the distance don’t see often enough.   I will never attend anything again in your establishment. And am so embarrassed by her actions won’t be visiting the area anytime soon. I’ll see our friends at their home. But , that too, will take me time. I’m proud of who I am and what I do with my life. Getting drunk isn’t even at the bottom of my list. In fact, going to a bar is something I even do rarely. Can’t stand being around drunk people. Will be calling to speak to the management and update my review after seeing what they do to prevent this from happening again to someone else. 
You not only ruined a Christmas party. You have ended a yearly ritual with friends we consider family. I’ve worked hard my entire life to become an educated member of society with dignity. And proudly can say have never been refused a drink at any time and told I appeared intoxicated. Never have had any legal problems for anything.
