Cindy Thompson has a long history with food and hospitality. The daughter of Grady and Ann Davenport, who ran the Kepler Hotel and Restaurant until 1979, she began "waiting" tables at the tender age of 8, which consisted of bringing guests their drinks and clearing the table after a meal was done. Her father was the grill cook who received his "culinary training" in the US Navy, and her mother (of Italian descent) made many of the restaurant's daily offerings. Most notable was Grady's pies, which long-ago patrons still rave about to this day. When Cindy had the opportunity to reopen the restaurant in the back of the Market House in 2008 under the advisement of then-president of the MH, John Clendenin, the fit was natural. In 2011, Cindy purchased the business from the MH council and has continued to strive to give her customers the best possible experience in a local landmark, keeping close to her roots of simple, good-tasting food.
Any space in the adjacent parking garage not marked "Reserved for Tenant" is available for free after 6:00 PM.
