Grew up eating here. They had the best soups, killer chicken fingers, consistently good breakfasts and more. 

They're family run and the family is kind and welcoming. Most of the servers are fantastic, especially the vetted ones. 

Waffle fries are great!

However something has changed in the last ten years. I moved out of state eight years ago. Told my partner we *had* to go to Christy's when we came back to Wood Dale together. 

That first visit back about a year later was when I noticed the first changes. Chicken finger breading used to be different than anywhere else and flavorful. Now it's like every other family restaurant.

And that's the general trend throughout the while menu. They use the same supplier as every other restaurant in the area, and put out the same bland food. 

Plenty of things are obviously canned, microwaved, or generally not freshly prepped with an in house recipe. 

Ordering a meal that is meatless is damn hard. 

The soups, which used to be amazing, have changed. Their cream soups are like cream sludge. Their chicken noodle soup often looks like Campbell's. 

The cake and pie in the desert cooler must come from the same awful place that many of the other family restaurant use now. Nothing tastes the way it should. Usually dried out.

It's really disappointing. They're still a local favorite though and the only family restaurant in Wood Dale. Don't see them improving any time soon.

Love the people n the place itself. They keep it soooooo clean n everyone working there is professional, courteous, kind, n they go over n abve for their customers!! Food is soooooo great!! Never have had a bad meal!!!! Good coffee, n specialty coffee's n hot chocolate too!!! All in all everything about this place is YUMMY!!

The food here is amazing. Whether a customer wants a quick bite, eat alone, bring a group, or eat dinner, this place lets that customer do it all. Portions are heavy so make sure you are hungry or else you won't finish it. Also, this place is not that expensive. A burger on average is around $11 and that comes with soup (with bread basket) or salad, a side, and garnish. Thats totally worth your money. The breakfast options are top notch compared to other food chains. The skillets are my personal favorite.

We always try to stop when we are in town. Never been disappointed. Excellent food at a good price.
