It's been a very long time since I've had City barbq, I'm glad I stopped in for lunch!!! The ribs were tender and the flavor was so good, I didn't have to use any sauce! I also loved the cornbread, potato salad, and the best peach cobbler ever!!!! I'll definitely be back soon.Food: 5/5
Was really excited to try this restaurant after hearing great things but I didn't have the best experience. The cashier was very nice but all the other staff seemed to just chilling talking to each other, on their phones, and eating. The food itself was okay. They were out of ribs hours before close and I ended getting raw chicken on my sandwich. Thankfully, I ate in my car and could go back in and get a quick refund. As for the desserts they are very tasty but since that's not what they specialize in I have to give them a low overall rating.
I love this location and the West Chester one. The staff always make the experience excellent. They are kind, respectful, funny and patient. I always order the beef brisket with banana pudding or corn bread. I also love their kids meal. There are always plenty of deals and coupons to help family save money. I hope all the employees get raises because they do an excellent job in keeping customers coming back.
To be honest, I went to this place with pretty low expectations. You generally don't get good barbecue in Ohio, and definitely not from a chain like this one. The food was actually pretty decent for the most part though- I ended up really liking the macaroni and cheese, and my dad liked the brisket a lot. I think that we would have probably had a good experience if we didn't get takeout. But since we did get takeout, our experience was pretty bad. My dad ordered our food to be picked up at 5:45 P.M., and we got there a little early. Our food was still already done, which would normally be great. Unfortunately, it wasn't because instead of being kept warm somewhere until we got there, it was out on a shelf for easy pickup. It meant that we could just grab it and go, which was great, but it was also pretty lukewarm by the time we got home. When we got home, we realized that we didn't get one of the main items that we ordered, and my dad called the number on the receipt to try and get a refund for it. Instead of calling the local place so we could talk to someone there, it transferred us to the main corporate line, which was already closed at 6 o'clock. I understand that this place just opened, so that they probably don't have everything sorted out yet. This isn't the worst place I've ever eaten at, and if my dad didn't spend $75 here for his birthday dinner, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. But until this place gets everything sorted out, I think we'll probably be sticking to Dreams BBQ down the street.
This place is a hidden gem. The customer service is superior. Even the manager was out talking to me and my husband and educating us on everything they have to offer. The atmosphere is nice. First time here and definitely going back. They even have whole smoked turkeys for family dinners too. Love that the food is freshly made on site. Not from a frozen state. They have freshly made dessert too. Very impressed We ordered the pulled pork family meal. The food is so so good I would give this restaurant 10**********! Excellent customer service who knew how to treat the customers well like we were family or their best friend. Gave Excellent recommendations on future orders for family meals and catering services. Excellent food. This restaurant has a very good team working for them. Other restaurants could really learn from this one!
Everything I've come to expect from city barbecue. Good food. Great service. This is a brand new location with a drive thru.Food: 5/5
If you want fall off the bone ribs...go somewhere else. The ribs were rubbery and chewy. It was an exercise to get the meat pulled off. Smoke flavor was good, sides were good, but not good enough quality on the meat for the high price. They were out of brisket at 5:00 on a Friday and when we asked for more bbq sauce they gave us a 1/4 full cup and looked at us like were were robbing them.
This location has been pretty consistent as to service and quality. Typically, the location is pretty full. Food has been great. Place is always clean and everything in stock. Decent BBQ, plenty of options for sides, meals. Prices can be a little lower, but overall a good location for BBQ and atmosphere.
I really like the pulled pork, brisket, and Nashville Hot tenders. Tonight we decided to try the ribs. We ordered a full slab of ribs and for $30 it could not have been more disappointing. I’ve never had ribs that were cut right down the center of the meat between the bones. It left thin strips on each side of the bone forcing you to handle them and chew it off like a wild animal. The meat was tough and dry. The bread was soggy and useless. That was nothing but an irritating mess. Response to Owners response I opened the link and I saw the required fields of information to input. I was not required to provide that information when I placed my order. In this current day of businesses requiring your personal information in addition to what it has already spent in order to rectify their own issues I will not be participating. When you have a situation that is supposed to be a fair trade Money for food that should be all that is necessary. When there is a problem in that transaction it is because one side or the other fell short. Seeing how we paid in full that only leaves one side. That would be your side. Why don’t you provide me with your information so that I can contact you directly and then maybe we can get this taken care of without being solicited over the phone or by email.
The first time I went here it was awesome, other than the side of mac and cheese being too small. The 2nd time I went I got a pulled pork sandwich. The pork was pulled in long strands. It was so tough you couldn't chew though it. I had to take it off the bun and cut it in chunks. It was still very tough after doing that. I am not sure if it was the cook on it or just the way it was pulled.
