For several years I have volunteered for City Lights Bookstore.  I began as a customer, and still am,but wanted to be more involved and helpful.  Staff is friendly ready and prepared to assist customers to locate books they seek.  Variety of book genres is excellent.  There is an extensive used book section and selection.  There is a Regional Room hosting a variety of topics.  This is my favorite source for books.

City Lights is a cozy small town bookstore tucked in the back of downtown Sylva. Definitely check it out if your in town. They also have a cafe downstairs from the bookstore with great food, coffee, and WiFi access. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't have a book your looking for they can usually get it to you within a week.

The best kind of local bookstore. The staff know us and our kids. They let the kids give treats to the cats. The children's room has small furniture and a few toys for kids to play with. Huge used section. Plus they will order anything you need. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

City Lights bookstore & cafe is a great local establishment. Great food, selection, and prices!

City Lights Bookstore is our most favorite place in town! Not only do they have new books available, they have a great collection of used and Regional books and maps. If they do not have what you need, they will go above and beyond and get it for you. They are LGBT friendly and support the local community in many ways.
