Story

The City of Oceanside has a municipal airport, a beautiful small craft harbor, one of the longest wooden piers in the west, golf courses, swimming pools, numerous parks, community centers, and extensive palm-lined beaches. Oceanside offers exciting hands-on recreational opportunities such as museums, bike trails, whale-watching tours, skydiving, fine dining, and so much more. Oceanside enjoys one of the most desirable climates in the country, with sunshine and coastal breezes nearly every day. The Oceanside Unified School District is one of the biggest and best districts in the state, and the staff at the 23 school sites collectively grooms pathways for the Oceanside kids they serve. Oceanside also offers a low unemployment rate and one of the region’s more affordable coastal living. Oceanside is located just 35 miles north of San Diego and 83 miles south of Los Angeles, Oceanside offers a unique combination of outstanding location, well-priced available land and multiple resources.

The city gave birth to a legend, Tony Castro. He is known as a loose cannon that plays by his own rules. Also, the beaches of Oceanside are pretty cool.

The Oceanside Finance department, the one that handles the fees for water, sewage, and trash has an employee that is extremely off-putting. Yes, one employee can ruin the good name of the entire organization. I called to cancel service on an existing account. I waited on the phone for 20 min. This is ordinary with government entities. I expected this. The conversation with the city worker started off amicable enough until I was told to repeat a street address. The street address is simple enough. It is spelled like it sounds but, I often get asked to do this so I was happy enough to do it. I said the street name again and spelled it. She missed one of my words/letters, so I started with the phonetic alphabet to help with the translation (she was obviously not getting it). She switched from inept to rude. The inept and rude lass told me that she did not need all that, to just spell it again. I laughed and started really enjoying the conversation. I said the letter and then the phonetic with it. I could tell this damsel was getting perturbed and twisted up. I laughed even harder (it was close to 5 pm) because, I knew it was getting close to the end of the day for this fine public service worker. Nevertheless, I asked her for information on how to lodge a complaint in regard to her personality. She was sufficient in her response but, I only do reviews when they are well deserved. Here you go Oceanside!!!

I see now how you make the city look so nice. You RAPE the LOCALS and Visitors by OUTRAGEOUS parking ticket costs.. $58.00 plus a website sur charge to boot.. YOU should be ashamed of your Mayor and city officials.. Who are going to the bank as we speak... NOT happy.. I'd add 5 stars, but it's in the wrong direction

Tony Castro was once a follower of the pack, but now he is a lone wolf, running the streets of oceanside. You may think you know oceanside, but you will never know the city till you know the "Lone Wolf".
