Story

Clements' was established in 1980 under the name Portsmouth IGA. A family run business, owned and operated by Donald and Barbara Clements, the name was changed on the company's 10th anniversary to the family name, thus Clements' Marketplace. Through years of service, Clements' has become an integral part of the Portsmouth community, supplying wholesome, fresh and traditional foods.

Clements' Market not your average mom and pop convenience store. They have everything and more. If you are looking for a place to shop where everyone knows you by name this the market for you. On Wednesday's they offer a discount of 5% off your order for Senior Citizens but you have to be sure to ask as they don't want to embarrass you by asking you. There is always a family member on hand to make your shopping trip enjoyable. I have been shopping there for the last thirty five years that I have been in the town. The Clements'family are wonderful people who also help out the community with their friends program you save your receipts and they will gladly explain the rest.

In addition to having an amazing store, Clements has an exceptional food / grocery delivery service!. After trying to get to RI to see my mom, I was delayed which was frustrating as I knew my she needed some groceries for the week. I set up an account on Clements on Friday evening and at 10:00am on Saturday morning (the very next day!) they had just dropped her groceries off for her. ALSO - when looking at the review of the groceries I had ordered for her (which had been sent in a confirmation email to me after placing her order), I realized she was given two small boxes of coffee k-cups instead of a large box which brought the price down a little. I really appreciated the Clements team for doing this and taking the extra step to save me some money while providing an exceptional service!

Love this place. I know where all my favorites are. Prices are a little high but I don't need a lot.😀. It's clean. Where else can you watch an overhead train go by while you're at the check out line.

Nice independent grocery store. Their take out bar is good especially if you are running short of time. Nice wing section. The dry rub buffalo wings is to die for. Biggest downfall is they are upscale and a bit pricey.

A very friendly market. They a look so have excellent hot and cold buffet selections. One lady said she eats from takeaway buffet every day. Easier and cheaper than cooking for one. I agree. They prepare great selections of foods for a quick lunch or dinner.
