I entered this Scarborough bakery to the sound of soft jazz and the smell of cloves and cinnamon, a welcoming atmosphere. I had heard from friends that their baguette is among the best in Toronto and made the trip from downtown, venturing out along Kingston Rd. I also purchased a multigrain loaf and Woodstock seeded, both sourdough breads. Was it worth it? In a word, yes. I do not give five star reviews indiscriminately. These folks have earned my business and my praise.

Great artisan breads and sweets. Love the Tourtiere meat pies! Friendly efficient customer service, thanks!

I wish the lady behind the counter could find a smile and greet her customers in a friendly manner. The few times I've visited she's been as sour as the sourdough on her shelf. I'm sure she loves baking but maybe find someone who likes people to man the counter. If I visit again it will be shame on me.

The moment I walked in the store, before the cashier said hi she said no debit or credit machine works and to pay only cash, so I agreed. I wanted to try the bread, although it is very pricey, since it all looked very good and the bread seems to be made with good ingredients. I got 3 products: a brownie ($4), a cinammon bun ($4) and a bread bun ($1.70). When I took my $50 note to pay she told me she does not accept $50 or $100 notes. So I nicely look inside my wallet to see what I had. In total I had $8 and I told her so she looked at me like... pay me my $9.70! So I told her I did not want the bread bun, although I really wanted to leave it all and not buy anything after she was so rude! I walked in at 5:30pm and the store closes at 6:00pm!! So they basically have to throw the bread away or sell it the next day and sell non-fresh bread... I thought she was providing a very bad customer service because it was HER who did not aknowledged me about her $50 note policy beforehand. I just moved in in a new apartment 5 min. walk from her and wanted to see if I could buy fresh bread from there every day. Today she saved $1.70 but she has also lost a regular customer who only buys bakery bread.

$4.00 for a butter tart?! You would expect amazing, not so much. What is in your pastry - wood? and 1 teaspoon of filling. Nothing like ripping off your neighbourhood.
