After visiting the CPD to discuss what should have been a routine traffic stop I can see now why they have a 2 star rating. The good ole boys club is alive and well at the CPD. The officer that gave me a ticket barked his way through the encounter and his Captain said he was being curt. I say he is rude, crude and socially unacceptable. My wife and I called the CPD while we were being detained because of his behavior and It was explained to me that sometimes people have a bad day and so on. The bad day in reference was not the officers but mine according to his Captain. I asked him if he was serious and he said yes. He said he watched the body cam video and that his demeanor was curt. I still think he is kidding and he assures me he is not. Then he closes the conversation with close the door and leave. Great experience Chief of police Ford.

The clinton police department is full of supercop type officers that seem to have forgotten the police motto is "To serve and protect." They seem to follow more of a mantra of intimidate and harass. I have been lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of said harassment a couple time in my life. They also seem to have a habit of pulling people over and blocking the entraces of neighborhoods or businesses with their cruisers while they have long conversations or searches or "investigations". Seen it twice in front of Kroger and had it happen to me in the entrance of my neighborhood. You would think with such a poor attitude towards people they may be able to at least keep the crime rates under control. However, this is not the case. Clinton's crime rates are at a steady incline. They do a great job of keeping things quiet in the media, though. Seldom, if ever, will you hear about any of the more violent crimes in the town except through word of mouth. CPD needs to understand that you can be kind to the citizens of their town and still do their jobs. Its not one or the other. Its disgraceful to the town to be represented by a group of bullies that don't have your best interests at heart. Since my wife and I have moved out of the state, we have met tons of wonderful officers in other places that are shining examples of what should be expected of all officers of the law. It made me realize how messed up it really is in Clinton. A for-profit jail system is horribly flawed and encourages these bully cops. Obviously not every clinton cop is one of the bad eggs, but there aren't enough good ones to warrant anything more than a 2 star review. The fact that I am almost afraid to even post this with my name attached for fear of retribution is just terrible. People should not be afraid of their police. SERVE AND PROTECT YOUR CITIZENS CPD. I will happily change my review upon improved statistics and better word of mouth from my friends and family. Clinton will always be home to me and I look forward to the day I can feel safe and comfortable being there.

If you are a Black minority STAY out of Clinton. Do not drive there. You will be harassed by Clinton, MS police who are trying to keep Black "Thugs" out of good Christian neighborhoods In Mississippi, every neighborhood I go to where the residents are predominately White or Asian American, I get pulled over and or racially profiled to be selling illegal substances. The Cops in these areas are very disrespectful and often inquire the real "reason" and the real "why" am I in the neighborhood, upon explanation that I gIve out of human courtsey, I get followed to my destinations. Every time I have gotten stopped in this state has been inside of a neighborhood where I "didn't belong." The cops are vicious and will pull you over for being Black. Even when all is well, I get accused of some imaginary traffic infractions where they try to use color of law to get me to consent to some search or to say I committed a crime. This is a common trend in this part of Mississippi, and I'm pretty sure elsewhere in the United States where Police guard the interest of politicians and political agendas and not the people. The "thugs" are constantly being hunted in Clinton and since Black skin gets you profiled as a thug by default stay out of there( which is the exact reason they do this they do not want you in their neighborhoods) Thugs are an easy target for Police Agencies and Law enforcement agenicies to falsify information on because good Christian people are all too willing to believe in the falsified information. I am a law abiding citizen and I served to uphold the Consitution in the Usmc. Some of these cops are not honorable and aren't noble heros who lay their lives down daily to serve you, some of them are truly Pigs, and are out to get you!
