Excellent ambiance, service and food. We started with the cauliflower, which was terrific. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with Brie and fig jam and a side salad. Out of this world!! The combination of flavors was amazing. My husband had the prime rib sandwich and fries which he said was delicious. He would absolutely order it again. Our server was attentive even when it got busy. Can't think of a thing to complain about. Will definitely return and soon!

We stopped in for a quick beer and appetizer on a Thursday and sat at the bar. The fried goat cheese with honey and pistachio was super yummy. We also decided to try a root vegetable hash. So glad we did - delicious. We will be back...hopefully for their Saturday or Sunday brunch.

Wonderful and romantic restaurant in downtown Excelsior. Drinks and dinner menu are superb. Highly recommend the smoke fish board to start. After that you can't go wrong. If you are a fan of classic cocktails be sure to try the Coalition Old Fashioned. On a beautiful evening it's a minor shame that they don't have more outdoor seating, or ideally, a patio.

Food was good. Service was very good. Lindsay (sorry, not sure of spelling) was attentive, informative and fun to talk with. We all liked the decor and vibe of the place...except the noise. It was way too loud. It felt like we had to shout most of the time. If they could moderate the ambient noise, this would be a wonderful place for a regular dinner.

Wow! Everything we had was top notch! We went on a Tuesday night - got in right away at 7pm. Service was good! 

--Water St. Smash was awesome, it's a great summer cocktail.
--Pulled pork buns are super tasty, comes with 3 tacos, so perfect for sharing if you're in a group.
--Burrata - You know how some places you order a cheese tray and just don't feel like you got your money's worth or that they barely gave you any cheese? Coalition is generous - enough bread, fig jam, prosciutto and cheese, we shared this between three and were very happy.
--Cauliflower - GET THIS. EVEN if you don't like cauliflower. So tasty. 
--Brussel sprouts - the least impressive dish of the night. Not recommended. 
--Steak sandwich - Steak was done to the desired temp, fries were hot. Yum.
