In Yarmouthport, on the north shore of Cape Cod, on a street lined with stately trees, stands the Colonial House Inn. Here the charm of old Cape Cod has been carefully preserved and the tradition of gracious dining and hospitality carried forward.
Each of the large guestrooms is individually decorated and furnished with antiques. Each room has its own private bath and a charming view of our grounds and adjacent historic homes.
Dining at the Inn is continental, with an elegant yet casual atmosphere. There are three intimate dining rooms: the Oak room with its rich golden oak tables, the more traditional Colonial Room with hand stenciled walls and fireplace, and the most recent addition, the Common Room, a glass enclosed veranda with its view of the fountain and the Yarmouthport town green.
The menu is a la carte and offers a wide selection of entrees prepared to order. Cape Cod’s fresh seafood forms the basis of our salt air selections, in addition to our beef, poultry and veal dinners. Our menu is also complimented by daily specials chosen by our chef. We feature an extensive wine cellar, and for your added pleasure, a lounge with full bar where you can enjoy a cocktail and conversation in front of an inviting fireplace.
Open seven days a week to the public for dinner.

My wife and I spent 5 nights mid October at the Inn. Our room was in the Carriage House. A nice small room with a queen bed and 2 chairs to relax on. Please request first floor if stairs are a problem as the stairs to the second floor in the main inn or the Carriage House could be too much if you have a bad back or bad knees....and I have both. I did not have any problem in requesting first floor/queen bed when we made our reservations. The weather was absolutely perfect... every day was unusually warm for this time of year. Some may find the rooms in the Carriage House to be too small. However, my wife and I went to Cape Cod to explore and sight see, not to sit in our room. The Inn Keeper, Mac, was very knowledgeable and gave us great tips on what to see and how to avoid traffic. Our room rate included dinner ( salad, entree and side with coffee/tea)and a very nice continental breakfast. We both found the food to be delicious and cooked to order.

Had the most awesome eight night stay at Colonial House Inn. Delicious skillfully prepared cuisine, impeccable service, efficient room care, Innkeeper pointed out the must-see gems nearby. A step back in time where a portion of the inn is more than 300 years old! Great for historic architecture junkies like us. If you are realistic about visiting a lovely historic old inn and not expecting the granite and marble, a la Ritz Carleton, then this is the place to make your reservations for a wonderful weekend or even a relaxing getaway into the days of yesteryear. Mac and his staff welcomed us into the Colonial House Inn family and we can't wait to come back! Thanks and God bless the Colonial House Inn! And bring your swimsuits no matter the season......the pool and hot tub are indoors!

Our stay at the Colonial House Inn was fantastic! We stayed there 3 days this fall, on our honeymoon. The Inn is very old, historic, and beautiful – exactly what we were looking for when we booked our stay there sight-unseen. Its’ central location on the Cape makes it easily accessible to anywhere you may want to go. Mac, the Innkeeper/owner, is a beautiful man! I felt attached instantly. The food was awesome! I …. mean…. AWESOME! My husband, Kevin, and I chose to sit at the bar rather than eat in the cozy restaurant area so we could chat with Mac. His stories had us captivated! I should also say that the entire staff was entertaining and friendly. We enjoyed our time with each and every one of them. We are planning another trip out east in May of next year, and will definitely stay there again. Sincerely, Jodie & Kevin Horne 9-29-2014, Fredonia Wisconsin

Being from the West Coast, living in Kansas, who'd have ever thought Id have a long weekend in Yarmouth Port, MA right in the smack dab of Cape Cod. The Colonial House and all of it's history made my vacation so much more wonderful. Its like stepping back in time, but with modern comforts. Mac, the Inn Keeper, makes the stay even better! The staff is friendly, helpful, and a wealth of information for tourists about the area, the history, and great directions to the best beaches.

My wife and I went to the Colonial Inn for dinner for the first time and both of us ordered fish entrees. My baked scrod was dry and tasteless. My wife's fish was the same but the seafood topping gave it some flavor. The salad portions were extremely small. Our waiter was friendly but appeared to be inexperienced. In all, this was the worst meal I have ever experienced on Cape Cod and we are year around residents. This meat was a waste of my time and money.
