I first came to Columbine for an emergency after hours visit with my cat, we saw Dr. Tim and continued to work with him in the following visits. He always explained what exactly was going on without dumbing anything down and provided accurate cost estimates for every procedure. My impression is that he is very skilled in small animal surgery and passionate about what he does. While my cat was in their care I got multiple calls each day with updates on how she was doing and once she was back at home they continued to contact me to see how things were. Ultimately, it ended up being my cat's time and everyone there was very compassionate. They even sent flowers the next day. If I get another pet in the future, I would take them here. What it expensive? Yes, I'll be reminded of that for the next few years at least. Did I feel like I was getting the best possible care for my pet? Absolutely.

The doctors are very helpful and explain in words that we can understand as to what is going on with our fur-babies. The staff are very nice and polite and will work to get you scheduled when you can actually get there. I’m very pleased with the care my fur-babies get from them, and I will continue to take my babies to them. Thank you Columbine Animal Hospital...🐶🐶🐶🐶

After explaining that my dog was high anxiety and there might be issues with him while he was in their boarding facility I was assured he would be fine and they’d dealt with problem children before and that my dog wasn’t even the worst they’d seen. There were no phone calls made to let me know anything was wrong as I could have had my dad come in to calm him down. Also, the vet staff is well aware of his issues and never seemed concerned. However when I returned to pick him up I was not so nicely told (in front of everyone in the waiting room) that they wouldn’t board him again because of the issues they’d encountered. The vet staff is great, but due to the complete lack of professionalism in this instance you all have lost a customer. It’s fine you won’t board him again, you won’t treat him as a vet staff again either

Great experience all around. Took my old mutt in during the wee hours of the morning. Dr. Karen was there to meet me and took over from there. Dog had pancreatitis and inflamed intestines. The vet monitored him for 3 days and sent him home with great instructions. This place is why my dog is still alive today. I highly recommend using this facility.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! I brought my pit bull in for an emergency a few weeks back because no one else would take her. I had them run X-rays and it came back that she had pneumonia. They gave me two options hospitalize her or send her home with medications I opted to hospitalize her as they weren't sure if she would make it with just medication and were admit she would be FINE with hospitalization. I paid 1200 dollars and had her hospitalized for the night. They said she would be back to normal soon and they wanted to do a check up appointment in two weeks. After one week of having her home and giving her medication she was slowly getting worse. I called my personal vet and scheduled an appointment. They were completely booked until today (8/14/17) my little girl passed away two days before the appointment(8/12). I feel they didn't care about the livelihood of my dog but more so cared about how much I was going to pay them. The only reason I gave two stars was because the assistant vet was extremely nice and helpful
