The Co-Op and the Bakery are both staples to organic shopping in the Ham. The selection is vast, and the staff are over the top friendly to help you find what you're looking for. The price point is a bit too much to be your weekly shopping, in my opinion. Also, the deli is great to get lunch on the go without compromising for fast food.
This is my favourite grocery store!!!!!!!!! Great use of inferior space. They have a very good selection of health and wellness products. Love their initiatives with recycling and reducing waste. The company is attentive to details of how the place is run. You can see that they are passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Love the seating area upstairs too. Everything is designed with the consumers in mind. I wish we have a place like this in BC, Canada!
It's the Co-op, not sure what else I can say about this place, you know what you are getting into and they do have some pretty good sales from time to time. Yes it can be more expensive but their bulk section is worth it. You do not have to be a member to shop here.
Small but decent variety similar to a small Whole Foods. Many customers and employees were wearing masks — maybe 50% — which was a pleasant surprise since mask wearing seems less popular nowadays. Cashier bagged for me using my own bag. Wasn’t a fan of the olives and the deli was closed when I went. The prepared food I got wasn’t great but probably tastes better when freshly made, not after a few days of being in the refrigerated section.
This store is great. Having worked retail in a similar store in Canada throughout the Pandemic I don’t think poor reviews on the basis of mask policies or customer service are fair. It has been SO taxing on front line staff to go to work in the pandemic environment. I’m sure the majority of complainers are “digital nomads” or the privileged people who have been able to avoid the brunt of the pandemic by working from home. Grow up and stop complaining about front line workers and be happy someone went to work that day! Trust me you guys who complain wouldn’t last a day I’m this line of work!
I was in Bellingham for the day and picked up breakfast pre-hike from the hot bar instead of hitting the usual quick stop - definitely made the healthier, better choice for a few more cents. Staff is helpful and very friendly, parking is abundant, breakfast food selection is very good. Shopping here makes me want to move back to Bellingham. This store is a gem.
Love the Co-op but DO NOT get the prepared pad thai- noddles with tomatoe paste : your welcome
This is one of my favorite local stores in bellingham. The selection of healthy/natural/organic skin care and cosmetics is everything you could hope for and more. I especially love the bulk section of soaps, lotions, laundry detergent, dish soap, natural body wash, and also they're wonderful selection of bulk tees, coffee, dried fruits, pasta and even honey and peanut butter ground straight from the peanuts! You will not regret shopping here. The employees are so friendly and they don't make you feel weird taking your time or when my card expires and I have to come back they never make you feel embarrassed or anything like that. The main reason they're getting five stars for me though, is when I was homeless and they had the upstairs sitting down area they would let me come in and use the microwave with food I brought in myself when I couldn't afford to buy it there and they would allow me to use their hot water, plates bowls cups silverware, and even plug my devices in to get a good charge so that I had everything I needed to be comfortable to sleep in my car for the night. Not once did they ever harass me even if I didn't have a dollar to spend for weeks at a time. I honestly don't know what I would have done without this place in the time that I was living in my car and I'm eternally grateful to them. They really are doing this community a huge service! Shop local as much as you can! It's so worth it in the long run even if it costs a bit more and honestly their prices really are pretty great compared to other places of this type!
Can you please put more dressing on your Wild Rice & Kale Salad? It's quite excellent when dressed well, very bland when not.
Great place. Fresh bakery. Sustainable emphasis on local sources. Bulk foods section is amazing. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
