Mission

Beth Messiah is a New Covenant community of Jews and Gentiles who support the four-fold vision of the congregation.

1. Called to our Jewish Identity

This is best described by a Torah-based lifestyle, which is led in a balanced manner by the Holy Spirit. We encourage Jewish believers to remain a part of God's call to and preservation of Israel. This calling can be reflected in the celebration of the Jewish feasts, love for the land of Israel, love for Israel's culture and language, and support for the welfare of our Jewish people in Israel as well as the rest of the world.

2. Called to be empowered by the Spirit of God

No revival has ever occurred without the working of the Ruach. This means we must be open to and expecting the gifts, fruit, signs, and wonders of the Spirit of God to be active in our individual lives as well as the congregation as a whole.

3. Called to community lifestyle

There must be an active flow of the life of Yeshua from each of us to the others as we seek to establish bonds like those of the New Covenant congregations in the book of Acts.

4. Called to Biblical leadership

Z'kenim (Elders) and Shameshim (Deacons) are called by Adonai to oversee the "flock of G-d" so that order is established and peace is the norm. Members must be committed to the vision of the congregation as set forth by the elders. This will promote "unity of Spirit in the bond of peace." At the same time, there must be accountability on the part of the leaders, and there should never be violation of anyone's conscience regarding personal decisions.

Congregation Beth Messiah is called to take the good news of Messiah "to the Jew first;" however, we are extremely grateful for the non-Jewish people who have joined with us to help shoulder the burden for Israel's restoration and salvation. Though the Bible clearly makes a physical distinction between being Jewish and Gentile, it does not limit spiritual responsibility on the basis of that distinction. We will remain one in the Spirit; for there is no spiritual difference between the Jew and the Gentile.

Spiritual responsibility refers to any authorized ministry within the body where one person is involved in sharing spiritual life through a communicative process. This might include teaching, worship leading, discipleship, playing worship instruments, decision-making, etc. People in these positions should be faithful to this body in their commitment of time, talents, and tithes. They should also be able to maintain healthy personal relationships in their families and the congregation. These relationships will produce the fruit of spiritual growth and servanthood.

We are working together to produce a healthy atmosphere for Jewish people to discover Yeshua. The end of the vision is a local congregation so strong in God that we are used to plant other congregations and to be a source of aliyah. Has God called you to be a part of this vision? Esther 4:14 states, "For if you altogether hold your peace at this time, then shall help and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but who knows whether you are come to the kingdom for such a time as this."

Easily the most diverse "church" in town (though they would be offended to be called that). They have a single-minded goal to be a "place for Jewish believers in Yeshua as Messiah". It seems that everyone else is attracted to the Jewish expression, as this is one of the largest such congregations in the world. Music is great. Dance is beautiful. It sometimes leans a little prosperity-doctrine. Gentiles often ask, "So how do I fit in?"

I have enjoyed your services very much. I live too far from your Synegogue in Houston and there is none in this area that I can attend. Thank you for your live streaming.

R’Michael and his family are the ones who brought me the Good News of my Messiah. I was a Chassid who had a zeal for God without knowledge of Him (cf. Rom. 10:2-4), then the Vowell’s came to Calgary and opened my eyes! I have been to CBM and it is authentically Jewish, when I’m in Houston I’m at CBM on Shabbos!

My husband and I have loved Cong. Beth Messiah from our first visit. We have now been there going on 10 years and have loved every minute of it. It's more than a place to worship and learn, it's our family.

My daughter and I went to this congregation, I am not from Texas. I was very surprised at the teaching. This congregation should not identify them selves as a messianic jewish congregation. It was like walking into an evangelic church, some of the men were wearing kippah and tallit, however the rest of the service was evangelic. My daughter and I left early because there was no substance in the service.. .
