Story

The Orthodox Synagogue for All Jews

We offer Shabbat services, as well as daily minyans for Shacharit, Mincha and Maariv. Our Shabbat services are followed by a kiddish, and during services we offer babysitting as well as a twice monthly childrens' program.
We also offer classes, social events, events for children and families, among much else. Please join us, we would love to meet you!

Kesser Israel is an essential part of my life here in Portland. It is the most welcoming and warm congregation. The services are truly from the heart. Everyone feels welcome. There is real community and real loving support. .

Kesser Israel is everything one would want a synagogue to be. It's a welcoming community with lots to offer its congregants. I have yet to meet someone who has not been friendly and accepting. I love the atmosphere during services where everyone is there for the same purpose and it's lively and fulfilling while at the same time, reverent and beautiful. My experiences at other shuls have given me a realistic comparison and one that gives so much appreciation for what a gem Kesser Israel is.

Avery welcoming congregation. They were very helpful and friendly when we moved to Portland many years ago, and have become even more welcoming and friendly over the years. Guests always comment on the friendliness and uniqueness of the congregation.

Incredible, welcoming congregation. Diversity and warmth are the words to describe this place. It's growing more and more and for a obvious reason, it's a good place to be.
