Connecticut River Academy is a school that is clearly still not their academically, as well with disciplinary. First of all, in this school you are able to retake any test you want, which makes it nearly impossible to fail because 100% of your grade is your test. This is clearly reflected in the SAT scores of this school witch are on par with an average Mississippi school. On a scale of effort in this school, I would say that I give about a solid 8%, witch is amazing when you consider I have made honors every single quarter since freshman year. This brings me on to another major issue, the teacher turnover rate. 71 percent of teachers in this school have less than 3 years of experience. There are only a small handful of teachers that have not left since my freshman year, this is completely ridiculous. Thirdly is the fact that the school seems to have completely forgotten about the United States Constitution, every day when I walk into school I have to completely forget about first amendment rights, and eight amendment rights. In this school if you even hint about having a view on something that is not democratic socialist, you will be serving detentions for the rest of your life, and I cannot even start about eight amendment right’s (Cruel and unusual punishment). This school will take away you education to have you come down and talk about for multiple hours about why you forgot your id, or any other ridiculous rule. The administration in this school is so distracted about making sure students are wearing id’s, there are kids fighting and doing drugs constantly who never get caught. The school defiantly is not short on resources, and could be one of the best in the state, but due to high teacher turnover rate, ridiculous low SAT scores this school is anything but.
