I've been going to this park for almost 40 years. Been through 4 different managers, always a great crew. Dated a bit? Sure, but it has a lot of history to it. As an ex park ranger from ct. I think the state system is well run and has some of the best parks in New England . This park was always a jewel and now it has been discovered by everyone. Enjoy! I used to be able to book a site a couple of months out but not anymore, best to do it a year in advance for the prime sites.

We stayed in the tent loop. No views. They were constructing the loop so no peace available in the day - just construction traffic and trucks dumping gravel / spreading it out. Bathrooms were clean but older than the usual in Vermont parks, which I generally love. One shower for each gender for 26 sites. Toilet stalls sort of hard to get in and out of and the walls are short. Sort of 1960's style camp bathrooms. Its not a bad park, just not much doing here and hilly. I guess I've been spoiled by the really really nice other parks in Vermont.

Love staying at one of the prime lean-tos. We arrived in the pouring rain and slept like a baby. We woke up to fantastic view of the mountain. The park rangers are super friendly and keep late office hours to 9pm. After camping here, I think my bar for camping are raised and it will be hard to not compare future campground experience to this one. Already planning my trip back.

Great for camping. The prices are good. They sell bundles of firewood at good prices too. The Lean-to rentals are so much fun and will definitely keep you dry if it rains. The coin-op showers are refreshing and the water pumps are good.

Great views, generally quiet. The only issue was that everyone passes the remote sites when they enter/leave - and the weekend that we stayed there was apparently a loud, speeding up the hill Jeep weekend. Overall, great site.
