Like any school, you have your good teachers and your bad ones. My complaint is not so much of the teachers, but more of the admin! My daughter and now her sister have been here since it has opened. The year it opened (2016) the staff and admin were on it. Very friendly and prompt with giving answers. You would see them outside talking to parents. We had a car line that needed room for improvement but they were courteous and helped. Fastforward to this school year (2017-18) and its a freaking ghost town with the admin. The car line was taken away due to parent negligence last year. There was not one admin that even bothered to correct the problem. They seemed very unavailable and has left it up to us parents to fend for ourselves during drop off and pick up. Its literally leap frog through the parking lot with no rules. Lots of close calls and parents have taken advantage of this. The vice principal has left half way through the school year (partially for maternity leave) and has decided not to return. This is a HUGE red flag for me that a person of that caliber would take it upon themselves to leave. For whatever reason it is, it didn't look good. There have been lots of promises that have not come to fruition. We were promised a shade for the playground after many complaints for two years. We keep getting told its coming at certain times and it has yet to happen. The kids safety should be priority, especially during the hotter months. I have volunteered many times to see little 5 year olds have borderline heat exhaustion hiding UNDER the play structure. We were promised a field. That hasn't happened yet either. Our children will continue to have PE in the lunch room and a small area on the side of the school or in the parking lot. Lack of communication seems to be a huge problem with admin and PTO. Parents need to be more informed. Once that happens there will be more cooperation from children and parents. We are the only charter school to pay semester fees ($175/per semester). How come they're lacking so many things compared to other charters? Its a bit suspicious to me that we don't have a breakdown. They're called consumable fees but why are we still being asked to donate for the classroom if over 600 students are paying that per semester? Not to mention they get lots of funding due to student performance which I hear is awesome. I would def. consider other options when considering this school. Again its not the teachers fault, but mostly the admin and how its being managed. Its a joke.

@MBO Lewis you can insult this school and it's teachers but you do not have the right to call it a "hell hole". This school is trying to give your goddamn child some manners to grow up a wise, humble man in the future, so take that mouth, and regret what you said. Also, the playground is not a utter failure, they are earning some money to renovate it.

Very happy with the school in 2016/2017 - our soon to be 4th grader was instructed primarily by Ms. Green and Mrs. Trafton with plus results.   The school was responsive with any concerns we had.

This is my daughters first year attending Coral Academy of Science located on Deer Springs and Sky Pointe. From the being of the school year I have had nothing but trouble from the staff. Especially my daughters second grade teacher Ms. Roth. Who is extremely condescending and rude. Every time I have had a conversation with Ms. Roth she continuously finds ways to insult me as a mother and as a person. When I confront her and say I don't appreciate the way she is speaking to me she would flip the conversation making herself the victim. My daughter had no idea that the man who raised her from an infant was not her biological father and out of frustration the staff took it upon themselves with out my consent to inform her he was not her biological father. When I confronted them about this issue they blew me off for being upset like it was no big deal.This crushed my daughters heart and they had zero remorse. I have a friend who picks up my daughter after school and Ms. Roth violates my privacy my informing my friend about my daughters behavior in school and how it should be addressed. I am the parent she should share this information with me not someone one out of the family. On another instants when picking up my daughter from tutoring Ms. Roth aggressively grabbed me and force herself upon me forcing me in an embrace I did not feel comfortable. I felt violated, I felt sexually harassed. It made me wonder how she is touching the children in that school. One day my child did not want to do her class work so then Ms. Roth tells her to leave the classroom. So she does what she was told by her teacher. Later that day I receive a call from the Vice Principal Ms. Barrett to inform me my child left her classroom for over 5 minutes so she would be stripped of her recess privileges. I asked Ms. Barrett where my child had gone Ms. Barrett did not have an answer and showed no concern for the where about of my child. Her only concern was to point out my child's refusal to do her class work and how she would be punished. My child could have been kidnapped for all she knew. Anything can happen in 5 minutes. The list goes on as to how the staff at this school has treated my family so poorly. Most recently Ms. Roth had gone behind my back asking my husband for his personal information after I had specifically told her she did not need his information and she could not have it. She cornered him and harassed my husband until he finally gave in. Once it was brought to my attention I emailed her expressing how upset I was that she would go against my wishes and prob my husband in such a way she then told Ms. Barrett I was harassing her. I expressed to the school all of my concerns with Ms. Roth and how degraded I felt by all of her action and nothing. They disregard all of my concerns they simply told me to no longer email them with my concerns. If this is the environment you wish for your child then Coral Academy is the school for you. I wouldn't wish this kind of vile treatment on any mother please be carful of Ms. Roth she is very manipulative. If you have a child with special needs as mine has ADHD she will treat them like garbage and make them fell less than. It so sad to see a teacher crush a childs spirit the way Ms. Roth has done mine.

I am so grateful for this school! It has been a complete blessing. Everyone is wonderful. I cannot say enough great things!
