About

Nestled between the Florida Keys and Miami is an astounding monument to one man’s determination. Often referred to as America’s Stonehenge, Coral Castle has baffled scientists, engineers and scholars since its opening in 1923.

Story

Top ranked by TripAdvisor / Yelp! Ed Leedskalnin secretly built Coral Castle at night; excavating, carving, and moving 1,100 Tons of coral rock. Since 1923 Scientists, Engineers, and Scholars continue to be mystified. The methods Ed used to create this architectural feat remain unanswered to this day. See a hand-carved 9-ton gate, a Polaris telescope, the world’s only Sundial with seasons. Referred to as a Modern Megalith, Coral Castle is compared to the ancient megalith’s of the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and is considered by many to be one of the Wonders of the World. Experience the Coral Castle with our continuous live tours. Our guides will share the “Love Story”, the History, the Science, and experience how some of Ed’s items work; even after 92 years! Seen on the History Channel, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, Ancient Aliens, Univision, BBC, and much more! Billy Idol wrote the famous song he continues to sing in concert today called: "Sweet Sixteen". There is a fantastic short movie about the greatest mysteries of Coral Castle and it's creator and builder; Edward Leedskalnin. Enjoy the delicious delights at the Coral Castle Café.

I love this place. I've been there several times. It may be small, but it's very interesting. We had a great tour guide. Love taking pictures there. I've read about Coral Castle and also seen documentary on it. Amazing how a 5 feet tall 105 pound man could build this place all alone with coral rocks weighing thousands of pounds.

I saw several bad reviews and still came with the family. My mom has been talking about coming here for years and we decided this was they year. We had a great guide that took us through the whole place and talked about everything. It was really cool to see where the man lived and he had such a small area he called his room. He had made his own electricity and had his own water supply. Really was interesting to hear about it all. The staff I talked to were all very nice and most are retires from around the area. They encourage you to explore the place on your own after you were given the guided tour so you can hear everything first.

Had a great time! We went on 3 tours which gave us 3 different perspectives. Very informative and entertaining. Tour guide Willy, Jerry, and a lovely young woman Phapha. It's entirely outdoors so be prepared for that South Florida heat! We had hats, sunglasses, water, and even took an umbrella. Luckily they provide complimentary umbrellas during the tour so that's pretty cool.

Definitely a place to visit it is fascinating what this man did in building his Coral Castle. The guided tour is very interesting. I've lived in the area for many years and never bothered to visit and I'm glad I finally did. It's worth the drive.

Took my 11 yr old daughter..we loved it. It was very educational, but at the same time interesting enough to keep her off her cell phone for 1 hour. .. definitely worth the small price of admission..
