Let me start off by saying that I had the worst experience I have ever had a store here. I went there to look at products as I am taking my exams to become a hairdresser. The employee of the store who wore a manager badge approached asking if I had a license. I advised not yet and she began saying you cannot buy anything without license and u also cannot browse the store without the license but saying it in a very RUDE manner. I asked her several times why I could not browse the store, she kept saying it does not matter u cannot browse the store. More detailed information should have been displayed on the store or door advising not opened for public viewing. The lack of information being displayed and the experience with this employee will be the remembrance of this business. I left feeling discriminated against and left this Store with no Intention of ever returning, not even when I am licensed.
this girl named milli or nilli I don't know exactly very rude, unprofessional and shouts and also aggressive. behavior that is not appropriate for a customers, whatever the reasons, there are ways and means of speaking to the public who are truly disappointed and embittered and not just a very bad experience after seven years being treated like this is disgusting who does one think oneself is? and then speaking in front of other customers without education and civilization. really disgusting I'm really disappointed
I'm a professional, this is a great place to purchase professional products.
I went into the store a woman was too busy talking on the phone to one of her friends to help me. I politely asked if they were out of handcreme and she said told me they have been out of it for a while. When just last week I bought some. Maybe someone needs to be retrained and learn some common courtesy
Immediately upon entering the store, we were questioned and told the store is not open to the public. I assume because we look young the workers were suspicious. My boyfriend who is a licensed barber had to show his barber license as soon as we entered the store. 5 other people walked in and we’re not questioned or given a hard time at all. We were then followed around asking if we needed help frequently. I find it interesting the only 2 people in the store given a hard time were a man and a woman of color.
They have gone down hill since they were bought out by Sally’s
I am SO unimpressed with this store. Every time I come here I am not treated nicely. The only employee there who has EVER been nice is the girl with Pink hair. A couple weeks ago I called the store and I told them that I needed to purchase Wella color, but was unfamiliar with how that brand runs their color line because my salon used Redken. I just wanted to know if they had specific colors in stock so I gave them the colors that I needed, and they told me those colors did not exist- 6N is 6/0 or something like that and that I had to look them up a different way and then they questioned if I had a license/cosmo card, AFTER I SPECIFICALLY said that I used a different color line and was unfamiliar with this other one. I was extremely offended because I had literally just told them I am unfamiliar with the color line that I am asking about. But I moved on to the Rocky Hill store, who understood my unfamiliarity and NEVER questioned my professional status. Then Today I walk in to the Wethersfield store and immediately upon entering the woman working asked me if I had a Cosmo card. I have gone to this Cosmo for the past year and a half and I have NEVER been asked upon entry if I have a Cosmo card. On top of it, she kept asking me if I needed help or if I wanted a basket, which I know people ask because they think you’re going to steal, I worked in retail I know how that works. I will not be returning to the Cosmo. I prefer the one in Rockyhill the women are so nice and they actually know what they’re talking about. They have never once questioned me or my license and I have also been going there for the past year and a half. I have never felt so offended, I’m not sure why the woman looked at me and decided that I didn’t look like a license professional, maybe because I am young?? But again, I have seen this woman in the store before and I have been shopping there for A YEAR AND A HALF.
The lack of professionalism at this location is actually concerning. First, upon walking in, both the middle aged Caucasian woman with the pixie haircut and the middle aged, maybe Spanish woman made it a point to walk in between my friend and I several times and repeatedly asked if we needed help after we said we were just looking. To ask once or twice, okay, but I’ve worked in retail in the past and generally when people do this, it’s because they think you’re shoplifting. Maybe they had preconceived notions because I look young or maybe because my purse was large? Regardless, I clearly had a shopping basket with me where I was placing the items that I was going to purchase. I disregarded this because of course I understand that even if this was their thought process, they’re trying to protect the store. However, my experience continued to decline. Upon checkout, I presented a cosmoprof membership card in which the Spanish lady asked for my ID. I told her that the cosmoprof card belonged to a friend of mine. Now, I completely understand that their policy may be to check for ID. That’s no problem. If they wanted to refuse the sale due to their policy, that’s also no problem. However, the manner in which this was handled was extremely unprofessional by both women. I asked the women if they would have liked for me to call my friend to confirm that it is her card or to FaceTime/receive a text for my friend’s license. Before I could even have a conversation with either of them, the middle aged Spanish woman was already calling the number listed on the card! Even if she wanted to call, that was still fine but damn, listen to what people have to say first. I specifically visited the store to pick product up for my friend who the membership card belonged to as she can never make it there due to her work hours so when this woman called my friend, she was in the middle of providing a service at work. She was speaking to my friend on the phone in a very accusatory tone, almost as if I stole the cosmo card lol. As the Spanish lady was speaking into the phone ON SPEAKERPHONE while other customers were present in the store, the Caucasian lady snatched the phone from her and spoke with my friend telling her irrelevant information such as how much time I’ve spent at the store AFTER my friend immediately confirmed she gave me her card. Mind you, while this is happening, the Spanish woman is continuing to run her mouth because she very obviously doesn’t know when to back off. Once the phone call ended, I expressed to the Caucasian woman that I did not appreciate her lack of professionalism in how she handled this conflict. While this is happening, the Spanish woman was STILL speaking. Not only was she speaking over me, she was also speaking over the Caucasian woman. I finally asked who the manager was in which the Caucasian woman responded that it was her. At that point, I told her that I didn’t need two people speaking AT me and that I only needed to speak with her since she was the manager. The Caucasian woman then said she was doing me the courtesy of not denying my sale. I’m not quite sure what the spectacle was about if these women continue to allow the sale in the first place. Talk about a power trip for two obviously very miserable women. Sad. Regardless, I respect the policy. If the sale was denied because the card wasn’t mine then fine. But don’t cause a scene, especially in front of other customers, then turn around and take my money lol. Make it make sense. It’s ironic because the Caucasian woman kept reiterating to me that her store was a professional store….so where was the professionalism from her and her employee? I visit cosmoprof all over CT as I travel for work and have never had a problem. Upon having a conversation with another friend of mine, she also told me the Spanish lady has given her issues in the past. I’m not sure why these employees haven’t had formal training or still even work here. Just wow. These employees are the reason why people will not shop at this store.
The staff is always so pleasant and helpful.
What an extremely rude and unprofessional staff they have working here. Such a bad experience that I ended up just walking out without buying anything.
