Great food! The fish and chips and chicken fried steak were very good. My favorite sides are the baked squash and broccoli. Definitely the best sides in town!!
Haven't been to a Cotton Patch in quite a while, but will definitely be going back soon. The last time was the one in Waco. Although I had the chicken fried steak with steamed veggies, fried okra, the real struggle was deciding what twice sides to get. My friends had mixed and matched lunch, and I hear the meatloaf is wonderful. Everyone seemed satisfied when done. The waiter was patient and attentive throughout our lunch. Vegetarian options: Veggies were an obvious option for those interested in.
So, we are from Tulsa, OK and we were passing through the area and ended up at Cotton Patch by mistake. My dad has done business in Temple in the past and he thought this was a restaurant he had visited before but when we pulled up, he said, "oh, this isn't the place". We decided that since we were here, we were going to give it a try! Best mistake my dad could've made!!! This place has amazing food and just as amazing service. Erica was soooo friendly and professional. She helped us with our food choices and pointed us in the right direction. Needless to say, I don't remember the name of the place my dad wanted to go, but I won't forget the name of Cotton Patch anytime soon!! Great food, great people and great prices!
Stood at the front desk for 10 minutes. A waitress acknowledged us, no one even took our name. Called the restaurant and politely asked if they were still staying guests, in a huffy voice they said they were, but they're on a hold. Eventually someone came from the back and took our name... Counted, and there was 22 guests waiting to be seated... Not sure why, place was full of empty tables. It was pretty clear they didn't want our business, disappointing because I used to love these restaurants, this one is not worth it!
On this day, The Cotton Patch appeared to be operating with a skeleton crew. They were out of several of our choices, but despite that; the staff remained so friendly and a pleasure. The food, on the other hand was a different story, sadly.. I ordered the squash, which should have been a healthy side item however, for a reason unknown to me, it was sweet, which made it unedible for me. I ordered the catfish, which had a not so great tasting batter, which was also slightly overcooked for me. The tarter sauce tasted spoiled, but the sweet potato fries were pretty good, as well as the not too sweet tea. All of the bad food could have been the result of pressure in the short staffed kitchen. I will still eat here.
Yummy chicken fried brisket! Good Catfish. Had house salad and love that they cut the cucumbers and tomatoes into small pieces.
First timer at this place. I'm here in Texas visiting my daughter who is stationed in Ft. Hood. I've been craving fried green tomatoes. I finally found a place that has them. They were fabulous!! The whole experience was top-notch. From the hostess to our waitress to the chefs and the food. Everything was exceptionally wonderful. My steak was cooked to perfection, the FGT were spot on. and let me tell you something else, I was also craving a salad and ordered a simple house salad. That salad was huge, practically a meal in itself and talk about fresh produce and REAL blue cheese, with chunks . I highly recommend this place.
Service was slow to start with, but when our waitress brought out our food, there were old dried up fries with the burger we ordered. She said "you can start with these, but we're making some new fries and I'll bring them out when they're ready." She forgot to add cheese to the burger and when I asked for it, she brought out a piece of cheese melted and stuck to a plate with a spoon to scrape it off with. I ordered street tacos and don't recall the menu description as "mini" but they were about 3' long at best. The corn tortillas tasted old. The chips that came with it were stale, and she forgot the salsa that came with it. Waste of appetite.
Nasty ..we order sweet tea it had not sugar i should have known it was going to be bad. But I try to give people a change my food came cause i order 4 shrimp on my Cajun duo got I one piece of fish 1/2 cup rice my load potato wasn't cooked all the way mine you that was the 2nd one I send the 1st one back. It was so much salt in it. I will NEVER eat here ever again. I brought my friend here cause she has never ate there and she won't eat here again. The waitress was training someone that was a fail cause they never came back until it was time for the bill nope she didn't get a tip..I love tipping when my serve is good even when the food is bad.
The chicken and dumplings was SO good! First time every trying it. I got the honey BBQ salmon and it was alright - I'll give it a 6/10. Sides were good but I got like a tablespoon of sour cream and the rest was butter lol. The workers were nice btw!
