They just cancelled reservations made a year in advance for my friend's wedding party and said don't blame them, blame the new owner who decided to do renovations. They made no restitution, and complained that they should be "given a break". They just ruined my friend's wedding and other people's as well and all they are doing is blocking people on social media. This new owner seems to be ending what was a lovely place I visited several years back.

So my fiancée and I booked a block of rooms for our wedding this coming June about a year ago (last May or June I think?) About a week ago we called several times just to verify our reservation but kept getting their voicemail (which was full) saying they would be closed for renovations until 3/20 (it was past this date when we called). We also tried contacting them through email to no avail. Flash forward to TODAY when we finally get our first piece of communication from them in months: registered mail with our returned deposit and a rather feeble "apology" letter stating that they are unable to "honor the reservation" because of renovations (which are apparently still going on) and a short list of "comparable" lodging in the area. Allegedly the place in under new management now so maybe they are just inexperienced or unfamiliar with the area but a)lodging in that area is booked MONTHS ahead of time (again, our wedding is in two months) and b)all of them require a 6 day minimum when we only need one/two nights tops. Whoever this new manager is made ZERO effort to call us personally to give us the bad news and INSTEAD felt that renovations were of more importance than reaching out to customers who had not only paid a deposit but also would have given the Inn a ton of business (we both come from big families traveling from out of town). I'm not one to get all uppity about professionalism but Securing this Inn was a huge cornerstone of our wedding planning and I cannot begin to tell you how much more stress this unceremonious cancellation has caused. My fiancée has literally been driven to tears trying to ensure that our wedding day runs smoothly and to be blindsided by this two months before our wedding day is beyond unacceptable. I'm sure it is a perfectly lovely place to stay and we were really looking forward to it. It's really a shame that we had to fall victim to the new management's absurd lack of experience and professionalism. Save yourself the heartache and don't give these guys your business.

Under new management now, and cancelled a reservation for a block of rooms for a wedding, 2 months before the date due to renovations.  No phone call or response from the new management, and their idea of handling the situation is to block people who give them a bad review on Facebook.  If this is how they handle this situation, not a place I would want to deal with down the road when they're back up and running.  What kind of hotel renovated during the summer anyways?

The Country Garden Inn and Spa is a very clean very quaint place to stay. It is much nicer than staying in one of the local hotels. I highly recommend staying here. The owners are wonderful folks to talk to and met every one of our needs.

Great for couples. Not a traditional b &b. Not sure if I would go back after not having exactly what we asked for.
