Coupa Cafe - GSB

Story

Coupa Café opened in the Knight Management Center of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford Univeristy in April of 2011. Housed in a primary location for the Knight Management Center (at the intersection of Serra Street and Campus Drive), the Graduate School of Business will have a prominent identity on Stanford’s campus. The vision for the GSB buildings reflects a commitment to creating space that enables collaboration between faculty and students, between the GSB and the rest of Stanford, and with the global business community like Coupa Cafe. Coupa Cafe continues its philosophy of working with local farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture, fair trade and eco‐friendly practices. This location, the third in Stanford University, features the finest single estate coffees from Venezuela as well as its popular Spicy Maya and Abuela hot chocolate. Additionally, locally grown products are promoted and enjoyed through the daily menu featuring soups, salads, Venezuelan arepas, paninis, pastries and other Coupa specialties.

Great cafe to grab a quick bite inside Stanford University. Great panini selections.

Moderately expensive but perfectly situated and usually pretty rapid in service. Sometimes there's some sweeter options for a few $s which makes for much more palletable lectures.

This is the second best coupa on campus. The building is more chic, but there is less seating than at Y2E2.

I was thoroughly impressed the first time I came here and got the Pabellon (to-go order). When I returned to eat in, the situation was poor. The staff was just not helpful. It was crowded, but we had to call over our waiter about eight minutes after ordering our drinks to 1) get our drinks and 2) order our food. The second time was clouded by the poor experience and I honestly can't remember what I got. Pabellon: I only got this dish the first time I and it was to-go. Obviously it is not a Cuban dish, but it reminded me of fantastic Cuban meals during previous trips to Miami. I loved the flavors. The black beans are a very small part, but the impact was significant. They were light and packed a flavorful punch.
