Company failed to complete under the contract. Damaged multiple parts of the home and failed to return phone calls or correct the issues. A contract was formed and the business agreed to sand the hardwood floors and stain them. The contractor gave us an estimate and assured us that they would be able to match the floor coloring with other parts of the home. We called and accepted the offer and arranged for a date to start. We were told that they would take no longer than four days to complete the job. They came the first day and worked for about two hours. They never returned the second day at all. When we called to inquire about the work we were informed that they were "covered up" with other jobs. We were also told by the subcontractor that they were lucky to even get a name and phone number from the business and that they weren't concerned with the time it would take to complete the job. Because of the nature of the work being done we were unable to stay in our home and had the furniture removed. When asked about the extended impact of not completing the job within the time we were told they would be able to do it the subcontractor informed us that they would get to it when they could. Later that night while we weren't at the home because we were not able to stay there we received a notice from the subcontractor that they were pulling off the job and wouldn't go back and if we had a problem then we should take it up with the owner (Mr. **). I spoke with the owner that night and he said that he was sorry about the issues and would get another subcontractor to finish the job. The next day another person went to the house and worked again. While sanding the floor the company damaged the tile around our fire place, created sanding gaps in the stair case and improperly put the wrong stain in one of the rooms. That subcontractor called and let us know that they would not be able to match the stain as they originally said. When we let them know that we wanted to stain to match we were told they couldn't match it and therefore would not complete the job and left. We were again told that we would have to contact the owner. I tried on seven different occasions to speak with the owner. The person that originally gave us the price and assured us the time frame and that the stain would match stated to me that he had no idea about that side of the business and that the owner would call me back. I never received a call from the owner and have left multiple messages. After several days we had to call another flooring company to finish the job and to fix the sanding on the stairs. They were not able to fix the stain in the one room that doesn't match and we now have a discolored floor because of it. Also, all of the tile around the fireplace has still not been fixed and we will have to hire another company to fix that. I have called back to the flooring company but they now refuse to take my call and I have been told that "It's not their problem." I would also like to point out that the new flooring company was able to match the stain that Cox Flooring said was unable to be matched.
