It's been years since I've come to a Cracker Barrel and I was craving biscuits and gravy so we decided to drive to our nearest location about 40min. We arrived at around 10am and there was about a 30min wait which was fine. We only ended up waiting about 15min. The store was nice to browse around during that time. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The overall food was ok. Not quite the quality that I remembered it but the price was fair. We were also missing a bowl of gravy but didn't bother asking because one bowl is a decent size. Probably wouldn't drive that far again to come back.
As a New Yorker, this was my first time coming to Cracker Barrel after shopping in New Jersey. I went in with high expectations and was immediately discouraged from feeling happy in any way. The woman in the store portion was following me wherever I went in the store. I approached a nicer young gentleman who was working the front hostess booth who sat us down. We sat at a table that had no server. It was ridiculous waiting for half an hour to get drinks with no utensils. A nice guy named Adam came over and said he would put our order in even though he was not our server. Thank god we ordered appetizers or else we would have been sick from waiting so long to get actual food. The food came and the roast beef was sub par. I think hospital food tastes better. The mashed potatoes were decent and the macaroni and cheese was watery and completely inedible. The beignets were delicious as was the stuffed mozzarella cheese bites. The stuffed cheesecake pancakes were the best thing I had. The peach tea is also a must try. This restaurant is completely disorganized with barely enough staff. The time it takes to flip tables is absurd and to get a drink and some utensils is just sad. I wouldn’t recommend coming here as this place is completely out of order like some of their restrooms.
We use to have such nice experiences here. They have fallen very much down hill. And not just in food but in customer service. We decided to go there for a graduation dinner. 5 of us. After being seated, it took 20 minutes to take our drink orders. The waiter was not attentive and there were only 6 tables sat total with at least 2 waiters and a bus boy working. When we finally got the food, my mother's chicken and dumplings were laughable. There was one small shred of chicken in the bowl photo added. The chicken piece is on the right. The chef should be embarrassed. We asked for the manager we were later told his name was "payton". He said he would check to see what happened and disappeared for 20 minutes. He sent out 2 different waiters to get us more drinks and deliver the sides they forgot they forgot 4 different sides for the table. When he finally reappeared, he had a plate of grilled chicken, and the same plate of dumplings. Not what my mother ordered. He was short with her not explaining what happened. Just saying "I got chicken for you". My mother refused the dumplings because they seemed to still be bad. This use to be a beloved spot for our family. We would travel up an hour just to eat here. But they have fallen down here in the food and service. They need new management and new servers. And if they can't get them, they should close and make room for a restaurant that will have good food and good service like cracker barrel use to.
Food was good as usual, but the service kinda sucked. So her 1 when we ordered 2 when she brought the food 3 when she brought the check. Had to ask another waitress for condiments and drinks.
Great place for American style fare, dishes are well prepared and servings are generous. Note restaurant can get busy at times, so you might want to call ahead. While your waiting you find lots of retro and Americana merchandise to purchase.
The pancakes, French Toast and Grilled Cheese Sandwich we’re good but only with some side vegetables you’re done as a vegetarian. There are no other meatless option on the card. There is a little Carrot icon on the menu but indicates only a 600 calories mark.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Loves the food but….. curbside pickup is ridiculous!!! Employees here are so incredibly LAZY! I checked in via the link from the text. Waited 10 minutes and called to see what’s up. After 5 minutes, someone picked up and said it’ll be right out. 20 minutes passed and I called and after waiting 5 minutes picked up and then hung up!!!!! The ice peanut butter mocha coffee is a joke! It’s not even to the top of the cup!
We went around 2pm on a sunday, there was a legit 30 minute wait. Free parking on premise, no issue finding parking. As usual, I perused the shop and made some purchases, check that off the Christmas shopping list. Checkout is slow, in all my experience here, the checkout is always so slow. Hostess was buzzing about and moving as fast as she could. She could've used some help. Waitress was pleasant, attentive and very busy. I had pancakes and bacon. My favorite. The pancakes are pretty big, 7 in?, salted butter spread on top, they are not too fluffy, and the butter makes them moist enough to eat alone. But the 2 HAF maple syrup they served with it was hard to pass. 2 small bottles was enough for me. Bacon is semi crispy, not thick but not thin either.. Husband had the catfish which is always nice and crispy and well flavored. We used mobile checkout, saved me from standing on line at checkout :
Breakfast was excellent. Love the hash browns. These two dishes cost about $20. Service was quick.
Love coming here! Everytime i get to escape to Jersey, i always look for a Cracker Barrel. Pancakes were made with so much precision, the crispy edges were LIFE! My personal favorite are the cheesy potatoes nothing beats those!
