We are a full service funeral home offering Funeral, Cemetery & Crematory services to the Tallahassee area and beyond since 1903.

Story

James Victor Culley founded Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in 1903. It was shepherded through the previous century by many generations of the Culley family. From the firm’s beginning with a single location in downtown Tallahassee, Florida, to today, Culley's MeadowWood has expanded the business to offer funeral, cemetery and crematory locations throughout Tallahassee and surrounding Leon County. James Victor Culley began with a commitment to a high standard of service, and throughout our history we have continued as the area's leading provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery needs through personal attention to the families we are privileged to serve. Everyone at Culley's MeadowWood is proud of our heritage and the everlasting relationships that have been established within the community for more than 100 years.

My grandfather passed away in May after a long battle with cancer. Culley's was absolutely wonderful. Freddie treated my family as if they were his own and Chase was super attentive to my family's needs. All the employees that we encountered during his service were extremely kind and were there for support, which is always appreciated. Any loss is hard on a family, and I feel Culley's employees were empathetic and compassionate while helping us arrange for his services. My family has used Culley's for many years and will continue to use them.

So this is "Dignity" service. This is the fourth time these folks stuck square styrofoam into a round hole. This has been complained about in person in the past, multiple times. Management says, "It won't happen again." That was two times ago. Last time she said, "I will personally take care of it." I think she thought I was bluffing. We paid for quality, professional service, we got lo- sided, square styrofoam. The world will see this photo every time they search for Culley's at Meadowood if I can manage it. We don't want apologies, we want correct behavior!

If you deal with this funeral home, either you or those left behind you will be sorry. The plans are so complex that no one will be able to determine what you have paid for or what they can collect from your family after your death. They are cold and calculating and show no sympathy for your feelings or respect for your dignity. They promise and never deliver. You can never change a plan, you must sell the products or services you have bought on the open market (Craig's List?) and buy a whole new plan. If you have never tried to sell funeral products or services, it isn't easy! They are arrogant, unprofessional and not worthy of your trust.

Funeral Director John was terrible. He was unwilling to help and lied to us telling us he had called us back. We contacted the funeral home on 5 occassions regarding additional fees we were charged after the burial. Long story short - They charge questionable fees after you have paid the itemized invoice, John doesn't appear care about us or our family, they got a collections agency to call us when we already paid the initial amount and the questionable fees which they charged us later. We contacted everyone at the funeral home over a 4 week period to see what the fee's were for and why we were being charged them. Finally we paid the fee's and after they deposited our check, they turned us over to collections. We tried repeatedly to get the account out of collections because we had paid the full amount and yet John didn't care and said we must pay the "questionable fee" a second time? For us, they made money by charging us after the burial and attempting to get us to pay the fee multiple times. Buyer Beware, you have been warned.
