First time at this place and I'm so glad we went! I've never tried Cuban food before and the owner was very accommodating and recommended our dishes. The meats were perfect, my favorite is their beef. The Cuban sandwich was great too. I ordered a mojito as well and it was crafted perfectly. This was also very affordable. Be prepared to wait though but we didn't mind. We will be back!
This place caught my attention while driving past on 6th the other day, and decided to give them a try. Called for a takeout order, pleasant person on the phone took my order, was apologetic in informing me my particular order may take a little bit as the cubanos take some time to prepare and might take upwards of 20 minutes. A nominal wait mid day, so I ordered a GP Cubano, and the tostonas & bread with sauce samplers. OMG! Soooo good. I have not had an authentic Cubano, or plantains for some time and this food was absolutely authentic. The sandwich was great, and the sauce sampler was also great. So much flavor, and instantly impressed with the ingredients all seemingly fresh and quality. The olive oil had taste! Refreshing to see such a unique option here in town, I will definitely be back. Highly reccomend.
This is without doubt the best Cuban restaurant in the states. And I’ve been to some places in the Florida keys as well as NYC. The owner is super friendly and we really enjoyed interacting with her. She mentioned in passing that she makes some of the best Mojitos in the world…. And believe me. They are AMAZING! The food is equally good. If you’re passing through Grants Pass or living nearby, DO NOT MISS this place. We wish she would set up shop in the Bay Area. She would have our family as loyal customers for sure.
I absolutely love this sweet restaurant! Sweet Cuban decor and the music is upbeat! The food! I can’t express how much I have LOVED each and every dish I’ve tried. Always fresh ingredients! I think each meat they serve has been marinated and then cooked perfectly. I recommend the Cuban Sandwich that is served with plantain a cousin to the banana chips. Service is superb. Their wine collection is very extensive!
We met Angela and Megan of The Cultured Palate for the first time today. I have to say that this is the best kept secret of Grants Pass. The food was so outstanding, with deep flavors and surprising veriety on the same plate. Apparently, all the Cuban food I have had to date has sucked! YOU MUST EAT THIS FOOD! Simple as that. The ladies themselves are truly amazing and are the hardest working people I have seen in a long time. We have been CUBANIZED.
Some of the best food I’ve had here in Southern Oregon. This restaurant feels like family and is super inviting. The owner is usually there and comes out of the kitchen to greet her customers. My friend and I went there one time years ago and had this blackberry lavender cheesecake it was the best I ever had. Not sure if they have that on the menu anymore but gosh it was amazing!
We often go here on a Saturday to take advantage of the laid back atmosphere and enjoy the delicious, authentic Cuban food. Angela treats everyone like family so we always feel welcome. If you do nothing else but I hope you try it all, stop in for a cup of Cubano coffee and dessert. They are the best desserts in the Rogue Valley IMHO.
What a find! Excellent downtown location, very filling despite small servings, and the best plantain chips we’ve ever had. Very light & crisp. My husband doesn’t like Cuban food, but he really likes it here! The desserts & drinks sound amazing. We just left & can’t wait to go back. LOL
We had a wonderful dining experience here. The service was a bit slow, but great for going to enjoy a drink or two and good company. The tapas and menu are not extensive, but everything was fantastic. They have a vegetarian bowl with added Cuban ensalada veggies available that was dynamite. The red sangria was good, the pina colada was on perfectly balanced. Rum cake for dessert could have been more moist, but still good.
I really wish I could have given this spot a higher rating, but our experience was less than perfect. We had really high hopes for this spot but unfortunately it fell short with the service and timing of our food. It is in a great location and Grants Pass and is surrounded by lots of good foot traffic. They have great outdoor seating and the was very welcoming and inviting. Upon our arrival it wasn't very crowded at all. It started to get busier as the night went on. Unfortunately, we were some of the 1st ones to be sat down for our dinner, yet some of the last to receive our food. I would have understood if we had a complex order or a big party, But we were only 2 people and we ordered 2 sangria's 2 Cuban sandwiches and an appetiser. Pretty simple. Our waitress told us that our appetiser would take longer 15 to 20 minutes. Totally understandable. 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes past and we still had nothing. We noticed that tables around us who had arrived after us were starting to get their food. Our waitress came up to us and asked us again what our order was because she had forgot to enter our appetizer. We ended up just getting our Cuban sandwiches which were good but decided not to get our appetiser because it would have taken more time. While the waitress was apologetic about the situation, it still was frustrating. They did their best to remedy the situation by giving us a free dessert, but would have expected a little bit more. They certainly seem to be short staffed and need a little bit more training. Food was good, but service can be better.
