A lot bigger than it seems! My friend and I kayaked from Kopachuck Park to Cutts Island. The island seemed really small, but once landing ashore, we climbed up a steep trail into the central woodlands and spent the next 40 minutes exploring the different vistas and parts of the island. The trees are magnificent and majestic. As far as we could tell, there was no dangerous wildlife on the island. You'll find yourself removed from the world around and immersed into a tranquil silence. The beach mostly consists of pebbles, coarse grains, and broken seashells. I believe we may have encountered a few Pacific madrone trees. Unfortunately, we found some litter on the island and some items of clothing in the middle of the park. There are no trash cans or facilities on this island, so plan accordingly. Use cautious judgement when leaving your vessel. Strong waves or changing tides may take your watercraft out to sea. The best place to come ashore is the northern side of the island. It consists mostly of sand and almost no rocks.

Well, we're talking about a small island in Puget Sound here! The place itself is Eden! ..... it's just some of the people you may meet here that might detract from your experience. There's no overnight camping allowed, but if you came in your kayak near dark you might get away with it. This place is essentially a part of Kopachuk State Park, and is only a few hundred yards from that beach. Sunny days and weekends get this place crowded sometimes (by my standards at least), and flotillas of boats develop and raft up near the east shore every weekend afternoon during summertime. If you came here early any morning though, you'd have a nice, quiet, Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound experience.

Pretty little Island but the state needs to provide portable toilets. Bad smells and toilet paper on the trails. People are obviously using the bushes.

My husband and I kayaked out to the island. We hiked/explored around and found a rope swing. Then, we enjoyed a snack while sitting on the beach. Mind the tide times, so you don't get stuck on the hidden sand bar at low tide. Really loved it!
