My first experience here was wonderful, I already referred two friends to this location because the staff was so friendly and the blood work was so convenient

I went to Dr. Lekawa for blood in my stool. She told me I had hemorrhoids which I told her I had never had. It was Friday at noon and she seemed rushed. Ended up finding out that she volunteered at her child's school and was rushing to leave. A month and a half later I found out my chart was misplaced after appointment when I called regarding a follow up that was supposed to occur. I had now fainted and was having more blood. Decided to call a Dr. that she had mentioned. After 2 min of reviewing my chart he said I had 4 out of 5 of red flags for colon cancer (grandfather diagnosed at 38 and later died from CC, mother had polyps, eastern european ashkenazi decent and blood in stool) and ordered a colonoscopy that day. All of this information was listed under my family history but she obviously overlooked or was not current on latest research. Not only did I have a tumor, I was diagnosed stage 3C colon cancer. Had I listened to this doctor I would not be alive today. Surgeon said my tumor was days away from breaking through colon wall. Thank G-d I listened to my instincts and followed up with someone else.

Dr Lekawa has been my physician has been my doctor for many years now and she has always referred me to the best specialists and has never hesitated in giving me a referral.
