Every D2 cycling shoe model is the sole creation of Don, aka designer+ shoe architect, Don Lamson. After wrapping his career as a pro freestyle skier/aerialist, Lamson turned to ski boot design and then cycling shoes. His 25+ years experience in biomechanics, design innovation and leading-edge technology are now legendary. Don is very hands-on in the D2 factory, fine-tuning each shoe and creating something new. When you go for a pair of D2s, you deal directly with Don in the pre-production phase - getting the full benefit of his deep expertise. Every model in the custom line ships with an integrated custom orthotic system and custom cleat position. They are "True to You," whether you're a pro cyclist looking for MORE POWER or a brevet rider looking for MORE COMFORT. The D2 custom LOOK is a nice bonus.
Many D2 customers come to us because their FEET HURT, even after going through a closet-full of name brand cycling shoes. Riders come to us with hot spots, numbness, knee pain, metatarsalgia, plantar faciitis, leg length discrepancies, bunions, different sized feet, etc. And they often say, I wish I'd come to D2 a long time ago! And they keep coming back!
D2INSIDE custom orthotics are available for ANY footwear you've got, from running shoes to snowboard boots to brand-name cycling shoes like SIDI and BONT. Many D2SHOE owners start with custom orthotics, and later take the plunge into a pair of electriFLYs.
