Were planning on staying one overnight but stayed a week. Nice people running the place and very accommodating only downside I guess is the dirt/dusty roads if it's windy. There is complete tree cover that's nice for heat but no satellite coverage unless you put out a remote and shoot through the trees. With that said we enjoyed our week.

Highly recommend this campground. Have stayed here a few times. The owners are very accommodating to all campers and families. Very happy to have been able to stay there.

No satellite reception unless you are in a specific site where the trees don't interfere with reception. The sites are really dirt with some gravel, when someone drives by dust rises up from the road. If it rained during your stay it would be a muddy nightmare. We have dogs so need I say more. Not sure how this place is a 4.7 rating. The water pressure borders on not being sufficient. The owner I'm sure is nice my husband dealt with him not me. I probably would not stay here again! I wondered why it was only $28.00 a night, now I know:)

Grateful to get into this campsite on no notice. Although high-priced, it was reasonable for the area and high season. My family was very impressed upon arrival. Great service, caring owners, very good shower facilities, and the numbered lots are well laid out with lots of trees and a comfortable spacing between sites. The next morning we decided we wanted to stay another night, but they had to change our site. When we returned for the second night, the younger crowd at the office did not make us feel welcome, the sites (the alphabet section) were more of a parking lot variety. I believe all sites are back-in, but they have escort service to help get you parked and hooked up. If we had experienced the 2nd night first, we probably would have checked out other camping options.

I am sorry that was your experience, Nancy. That certainly would be frustrating. I do question if you have the correct park in your review. I camp at this park often and know this park like the back of my hand. What you are describing is not Dakota Campground in Mitchell. They do not have any alphabetical sections or any alphabetical anything. They also do not have young people on staff. I would highly recommend this park as it is the most reasonably priced in Mitchell, along with roomy sites and great shade.
