Dr. Brock Oukrop, Dr. Alison Just, and their staff welcome patients of all ages to come see us at Dakota Family Smiles! We are accepting new patients.

Story

Dr. Brock Oukrop has been practicing in Bismarck, ND since 2007. He completed his undergrad at University of Mary and graduated in 2007 from Creighton University in Nebraska.

Brock is an avid fisherman. He enjoys camping, hunting, and attending his children's activities. He and his wife Dana have 3 daughters.

Dr. Alison Just has recently moved to Bismarck, ND. She practiced in Beulah, ND part time since graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2008. She was born and raised in North Dakota and her undergraduate degree is from North Dakota State University. Dr. Just is excited to join Dakota Family Smiles and will continue to work part time. When not working, she is busy enjoying being a mom to two girls and wife to her husband, Mike.

There is good reasoning for happy smiles in there name! You feel like you're part of the Family whether you call in or check-in. If you're looking for family dentistry, no need to look any more, call them and schedule your appointment today. My time there yesterday was to have a crown placed and I always felt like I was the most important person in there care. I received no payment for my review. Thank you Dr. Drummond and staff for your professional treatment and care.
I’d like to give no stars. Dakota FROWNS told me they needed to redo one of my fillings, it had NEVER caused me trouble. Now I have nothing but trouble with it since they redid it. I was told I grind my teeth and that maybe the sensitivity will go away after a year. Also if I want to come back in I’ll be charged for their mistake. Also my husband was told his X-ray was covered by our insurance when it was not. So beyond frustrated with this place.
I went in about 1.5 year ago. Long time ago, I know. but I went in because I had swollen gums because I was pregnant. I go in, they clean my gums and they tell me I have a couple cavities so, obviously, I let them deal with them. A couple days go by and my left upper tooth one of the teeth they filled continued to hurt. I couldn’t eat anything on that side without a ton of pain. I go back 3 separate times trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally, on the 3rd time. The dentist said “well you grind your teeth and that’s why this tooth is hurting.” I know, without a shadow of a doubt. That I do NOT grind my teeth. That was the moment where I just said “Okay, you clearly cannot fix the problem so I’m done.” So I didn’t go back. Flash forward to 2 weeks ago, I moved to a different city and saw a different dentist about my tooth that STILL a year and a half later, I cannot chew food. They take the filling out and replace the filling only to find that it did not help the problem….. Newsflash: the dentists at Dakota Family Smiles didn’t actually seal my filling correctly which left my nerve exposed and over the course of the 1.5 years, my nerve in that tooth died. So now I have to spend a couple grand getting a root canal just to be able to eat food properly. This shouldn’t have happened. The cavity they filled was super shallow and this could have been avoidable if people did their jobs correctly. I’m so upset because all I can think about is if I hadn’t gone to this dentist 1.5 years ago I wouldn’t have had to get a root canal now. Save yourself the time and money. Don’t go here. Go, literally, anywhere else.
Jordan has been my dentist. I've been in for routine cleaning, pics and x-rays, and most recently a tooth extraction. The team here has been nothing but awesome. Highly recommend!
Kristen was very thorough in her cleaning and gave very good insights into my overall dental health. Best Hygienist experience I have had! Dr. Just was also wonderful as always.

This clinic goes above & beyond for their patients! We are new patients and needed an urgent appointment. Dakota Family Smiles got us right in the same day due to a cancellation. I came in with my toddler who is autistic and the entire staff was so helpful and welcoming to us. They were patient and helped me when I needed it most. Thank you all so much!!! You truly have the best service!
Laura was very friendly and personable while doing a great job with my teeth cleaning. Brock was also very friendly. He explained everything that was going on with me teeth and why he was doing what he was doing which shows that their team cares to keep their patients informed about their oral health and the reasoning for what they do instead of just doing something and you not understanding why. First visit, I have no complaints and will continue to visit Dakota Family Smiles in the future.
I have visited Dakota Family Smiles twice and had great experiences both times. The first was simply a cleaning and exam. The office is bright and comfortable with extremely helpful office personnel. The exam and cleaning was very thorough and efficient. Both the person who cleaned my teeth and the dentist were careful as well as thorough. There was no pain involved. During the exam the dentist found a loose bridge that needed to be replaced. My second visit was for that purpose. In one morning the dentist and his assistant were able to remove the bridge, remove glue and decay from the teeth, manufacture a new bridge and replace the old one with it. It was a very comfortable experience and much superior to my previous bridge work that usually took a couple of weeks to complete with temporary caps in the interim. And the bridge fits perfectly. Based upon these two experiences, I would be happy to recommend this dentist’s office to anyone regardless of the dental work needed.
We love our Dakota Family Smiles Team!! You are always greeted by Sheri with a smile and she always remembers your name and life happenings. We have experienced every hygienist and they are all wonderful! My son loves Carla! Dr Brock and Dr Just are always so personable! We recommend DFS to everyone!
