The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns and manages more than 60 forest preserves in nearly 26,000 acres of prairies, woodlands and wetlands. Each year, more than 4 million visitors enjoy the trails and preserves that offer a variety of scenic views and leisure activities. Programs at five centers serve over 80,000 participants each year.
The mission of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is to acquire and hold lands for the purpose of preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of its citizens.
