Herrick Lake has miles of beautiful running/biking/walking trails. It's one of my favorite places to run because of the scenery. There are a lot of nice picnic grounds around the lake. Sometimes I see people fishing or paddling their canoes or kayaks. It's a relaxing place.

This clean park is just the right size to bring your family for a picnic, boating, fishing, or exercise. There are open air pavilions which can be reserved for events. Only park provided rental boats - including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats - are allowed. From fishing to skating, there is fun all year round.

Beautiful and serene, my favorite of the local forest preserves. The trails that connect this and Danada Preserve are wonderful. Making a few loops around the lake is always calming as well. My dog loves exploring this area and there is quite a lot to see.

Beautiful and relaxing. Great place for a jog/walk, relax with a book, or bring the family. Also very affordable boat rentals.

Best forest preserve in the area. Beautiful in spring, summer, or fall. Well kept paths for walking or bike rides. Rent a kayak for an hour or fish in the lake. Have a cookout in one of the pavilions
