Darumas seems to have gotten the magic of a great meal a good atmosphere and great service combined together for a wonderful evening out. My wife and I have been dining here for years and have long since given up grill table to the quiet of the table dining experience. We always get a great meal and very very good service. The shrimp and scallops bring us back over and over. We have pretty much tried the whole menu over the years and never had a bead meal here. Prices have slowly gone up and this restaurant is not easy on the wallet, but worth it to me.
This is my favorite restaurant. The quality of the food is really good. I always get filet mignon with double rice. My boyfriend gets chicken & shrimp with double rice. We try to get there when they open because it does get busy on weekends. It makes for a great date night!
Food was great. The show could have been better. He didn't do as many tricks and we had people with us that had never been to one before. And no shrimp appetizer. So I guess that has changed. I haven't been in a while. Otherwise great.
Last night Sunday 12/04/22 I went into the restaurant to sit at the Hibachi grill for the experience like I always do. This particular evening was my late daughters birthday so I was there getting food for her special day. EVERY TIME I come there I watch the food, laugh and joke & once the food is finished I pack a box & leave. Every time I go & I’ve been going for over a year now. Last night was probably be my last time dining in this restaurant due to the waiter/receptionist being rude and mean about me leaving after the food is finished. She told me that I could no longer sit at the grill if I just leave after the food is finished. If I’m paying my good money & TIPS I deserve to have the full experience as many times as I please. MY MAJOR ISSUE IS THAT my bill usually comes up to like $35 chicken shrimp & lobster THEY CHARGED ME $50 on my ticket without giving me the receipt charges come straight to my phone She gave herself rude waiter/receptionist a tip out of my hard earned money. I will not be returning to dine but will be returning for my money back that they stole.
I came here for my daughters birthday. We had a reservation for 6pm. They say people who arrived and reservation was after ours. I felt like the whole experience was rushed. The waitress was trying to get us to place our order after like 5 mins of sitting down. The cook didn’t interact with us and the portions and food was very bland. This will be my first and last time there!
First time trying this place. Husband and I walked right in and were seated at the grill. Everything was tasty from the miso soup, sushi rolls, to the hibachi. Service was great. The only thing was the temperature was a bit warm, which you have all of those grills going so that is to be expected. Definitely will be back.Food: 5/5
Daruma's used to be the best Japanese place around. They have gone way down hill..... ordered food tonight....will never go back! Got double fried rice was a tiny bit over 1 serving and paid for double. I always get only mushrooms for the veggies which is extra no problem at all,.....they refuse to do that now even though us the customers pay extra for that! We will be going to another Japanese restaurant from now on!
We had the steak and shrimp individually and shared it was delicious, the kids had an awesome time, were awed by our chef, and were really good eaters, for there parents. It was a perfect night out before our cruise.
Great place if you love Japanese food. We normally go here for the teppanyaki. Be sure to come with an empty stomach if you order this. Each meal comes with soup, salad, rice, vegetables, noodles and the proteins of your choice. I typically go with the teriyaki chicken and my wife orders the steak. The sushi here is also very good.
Daruma's used to be our favorite place for hibachi style dining with that being said Daruma's has declined in both service and quality. The portions have gotten smaller and the "show" has not changed in years-- you can see this at any hibachi grill in any town. The prices have escalated while the quality of food has declined. It is not worth my time nor my drive to go to this establishment.
