Not much to look at from the outside. As a matter of fact when I saw outside I wanted to go somewhere else. Once inside the staff was very good and the sushi was outstanding. I ordered about ten different sushi rolls for 4 people. The variety was simply outstanding. Miso soup and wow. There was so much left over we all took some home for dinner . I highly recommend this place. Do not judge the book by the cover.
I was looking for a quick bite to eat close by after getting some supplies and happened to walk into Wasabi. The server said I could customize and substitute my meal with only rice or only noodles or even double up or replace veggies etc. That flexibility is why I decided to dine here and just got 2 bowls of soup instead of the salad. The large sake is only $6.99 but the small bottle for $3.99 was more than enough for both of us. It was a decent meal. I gave 4* bcos they charge 75 cents for yum yum sauce. I didn't order any yum yum sauce but on principle I don't like restaurants that nickel and dime patrons. That's like charging for ketchup with an order of fries or a burger.
Pleasantly surprised with the sushi. Good prices and deals for lunch!
The sushi was surprisingly quite good, would not have guessed it from the venue
My boyfriend and I definitely enjoyed the food. Staff could be more friendly and welcoming.... Recently August 1, 2021, Wasabi continues to have our business. Because of the quarantine due to covid, we enjoy placing our order and just picking up. The food is still good.
The service is lacking in this place. It just doesn't feel very welcoming but that often is a waiting problem and food flavor always takes priority over service for me. On the other side of things the food had a lot of good flavor. I eat sushi all over the place and this is what I would call good. I had the scallions wrapped with beef as an appetizer. It was really good as well. I'm not much on tofu but my wife really liked the fried tofu appetizer as well.
Fun atmosphere, decent wine list, entertaining hibachi chefs. We had sushi, steak and shrimp which were all good.Recommended dishesShrimp Tempura, Fried Rice, Steak and Shrimp Hibachi
After I read the reviews I was anxious to give the restaurant a try. I was very disappointed the chicken and shrimp was overcooked, the noodles were tough and dry. The food had no seasoning other than the scrotched taste from the grill. I used several packs of soy sauce in effort to add flavor. The burned taste permeated the entire meal. I paid 20$ for a meal fit for the garage disposal that is exactly where it's going. Adding insult to injury I waited over 20 minutes for this pre-cooked meal warmed over in the microwave. Friday evening I thought the food would be fresh or at least cooked fresh. My first and last visit.
We went in for lunch. I thought the Wasabi in Callahan was ok, so thought I would try this, thinking they might be the same people. First to say, the wait times were odd. We waited for 15 min before they took our order, but the food took about 5 min to come out, which was odd because the meat was overcooked. Maybe if they took more time and care, it would not have been so tough and bland. The food tasted unseasoned and the soup tasted like water. I was unsure who to ask when we needed something because they would ignore us, despite the place being almost empty.
The food was gooooood!!! My only complaint was the waitress Lmaooo I felt like she was trying to snatch/take my soul Throws up Devil Horns but forreal I will eat here again!!!
