Very close to 5 stars. The hot chicken is very good, perfectly cooked with a good crisp and juicy. I really enjoyed the french fries that come with it too, much better than other hot chicken places around. What kept it from being 5 stars was the wait ordered right away in store but it took 10 minutes to get my food, the hot chicken flavor was very good but a little too paprika forward, and to my taste, the Dave’s sauce is too sweet I’ve had better flavored hot chicken and sauce in the area. This won’t stop me from being back but I won’t be going out of my way to go, but if I do, I’ll be sure to order ahead.
After all of the hype surrounding Dave’s hot chicken, I finally made the drive over to try it. I was absolutely blown away by how amazing this chicken was. This was some of the best hot chicken I’ve ever tasted, and I have been to many hot chicken restaurants in Nashville. I ordered the sliders meal, the tenders meal, the mac and cheese, and a few more tenders by themselves. The sliders were absolutely exquisite, they were better than any chicken sandwich I have had anywhere else. The addiction of coleslaw really brings the sliders up another notch, as the element of freshness pairs well with the heat of the chicken. I got the hot and the extra hot and they were both perfect, as I am somehow who loves spicy food. If you like spicy I would recommend hot or extra hot. The tenders themselves were delicious and the pickles were very crunchy and fresh which I appreciated. The fries were nothing special in my opinion, but they were good fries and they were seasoned well. The mac and cheese was something special to me. The kind lady taking my order mentioned that she could add some spice to my mac and cheese and I of course said yes. When I tried the mac and cheese it blew me away, it was better than any fast food mac and cheese i’ve ever had and quite better than most mac and cheeses in my opinion. Now, I am going to issue a warning if you are curious about the “Reaper” chicken. I am somebody who loves spicy food, so I decided to try to the reaper chicken tender. I had one big bite of it and I think it was the spiciest thing I have ever had in my life. I was chewing on ice for a little less than an hour. Therefore, if you are looking for the spiciest chicken you’ll ever taste, go ahead and get the reaper chicken. Overall the staff was extremely friendly and helpful to me, and the food was very top tier and I will be coming back to get some more when I am back in Philly. I forgot to mention that the Dave’s sauce is very delicious and goes so well with the hot chicken.
Been here twice so far & both times were great. The chicken has really great flavor & well seasoned. I got a mild & my bf got the reaper because he wanted to try it. I’ll Warn You** My bf did Not Like it!! It messed him up for 2 days & had his whole insides hurting & burning.. If that’s your thing then go for it, but just a heads up. The mild was great though, mac & cheese tasted good & fries were good as well. Not a big fan of the “Dave’s” sauce, tasted just like mayo to me.. Overall I love the sandwich & I recommend!
I'm from Philly so I was excited to know we have a Dave's hot chicken here. Ran down for a try. Sooooo very quality very tasty. Fyi they do not lie about the spice level! I didn't do the reaper, I got mild and hot. The hot kinda kicked my butt.yet satisfying because I do like spice. The mild was mild. So I'm basically saying what ever level you choose Dave's is spot onwith it. Fries were decentmilkshake not pictured very quality. So all in all the hype is warranted. Definitely give them a try! P.S customer service was also top notch .
My family and I stopped here for lunch. It was packed inside we didn’t mind waiting, but be prepared to wait and if you’re in a rush, please order ahead of time online! The food was DELICIOUS and is made fresh which is why there may be a bit of a wait. The tenders are full sized, the “sliders” are huge, and the fries are super crispy and flavorful! The service was great and so was the environment. I loved the wall art. It gave an “urban freshness” to the restaurant… super dope! There is indoor and outdoor seating, a restroom, and an abundance of parking. The restaurant was very clean, especially for how packed it was with people. Of course we will be returning! Vegetarian options: There is a cauliflower version of the chicken. Parking: Huge shopping complex with lots of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of tables and chairs that have mobility
So we loved our food, it came out hot and their sliders are great. I got the #3 it comes with 1 slider, 1 tender, fries, pickles on the side and sauce. I would definitely go back for the food, the place is cute. The only thing I disliked was the cashier who wrung us up, there wasn’t a line, but we felt rushed and then when I tried to make sure my order was correct and the cashier was displeased. Need better service. Then there was the employee who came out of the bathroom and sat down to look at my daughter inappropriately. Next time we get Dave’s chicken we will go to another location.
You have got to try Dave’s Hot Chicken. The food is good, prices are reasonable and the staff is so friendly. We tried the hot and extra hot sliders but next time we are going to go crazy and try the reaper. It was a different experience for my family. Anyone can go to chik fila or other places but you gotta try Dave’s. Besides the chicken, the fries are really good and their sauce is delicious.
The chicken is delicious and savory. The secret sauce is mouth watering. The fries seasoned perfectly. Fast service. Small menu easy to order. 10/10 atmosphere. Great place to hangout at. Shakes are amazing. Very friendly staff and patient staff working fast and accurate. Very affordable. Great value. Vegetarian options: They have a non meat option as well.
Dave is close to my home. I was waiting for a long time to try it. I have tried Asad's hot chicken, which has great reviews and a loooong line. So, I had set it as my comparison benchmark. I read reviews before coming. I enjoy spicy food so I went for Extra Hot as many people had mentioned that hot wasn't hot at all. Service was really fast like really. Fries were crispy, hot, and awesome. Sauce was like any burger sauce you can get. It served its purpose. The chicken was hot and juicy. Now, since I had ordered 'Extra Hot' so my observation is that they dipped the hot fried chicken into chili powder like you literally dunk cookie in milk. So, the first bite of that uncooked or raw chili burnt our lips and throat real bad. Thank God I had grabbed a packet of honey, though I was clueless on why they would keep honey. I'm an Asian and I can handle heat, and I know the difference between cooked and uncooked chili. Just by touching the chicken, I could see raw red chili on my fingers. But the fries, potato buns, pickles, kaleslaw, sauce, all were great! Now the question comes, will I visit again?? Well, maybe... I mean I eat spicy food and I know the hot level of heat won't be spicy, Extra Hot level of heat is raw spice .. maybe they should keep packets of chili sauces? Or add jalapeños in their sliders? Any yeah! Compared to Asad, it is more or less the same. Even Asad's hot chicken wasn't that spicy.
Super friendly staff, hot chicken was incredible. Exactly how I remembered it from the other locations . Way better than asads in Philly, doesn’t even come close. . Mac & cheese was great & chicken was better. Pictured is extra hot and reaper. Be careful with the reaper - fair warning.Food: 5/5
