Dayton South Veterinary Clinic is a full service animal hospital for dog, cat, avian, and exotic animals. Some services provided include: wellness and preventative medicine, general surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and geriatric care. In house equipment includes: radiology (x-rays), blood analyzers, urinalysis equipment, gas anesthesia, electrocautery, and ultrasonic dental equipment. We are equipped with an ICU area to hospitalize all of our patients including avian and exotics. We also offer kennels and boarding facilities for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. Call us at 294-8888 to make an appointment or reservations for boarding.

Do not go to this Vet. You will be charged if you miss an appointment even if you call and inform them of your emergency. There are many other great vet clinic options in the dayton area - do not chose this one.

Dr. Brauer is a very caring vetinarian. Been going to him over 15 years. Recommend.

I would give this place a zero if possible. Dr. Schumacher was less than professional. I have a huge issue with taking a vets word if my animal was not even examined. They sure wanted to do all the expensive test though. I also have an issue with then taking my pet to the back for a simple procedure turns into my pet not being returned until they have you ready to pay. I sat in the exam room and never once saw the vet lay a hand on my pet.I crossed check the prices on the test they wanted to run with the new vet I will be going to, not sure how DSVC can justify 100% price difference for a blood test. If you want your bank account to be bled dry and deal with rude a Dr This is the place to go.

The vets and staff are awesome!!! If you have a pet...any pet...this is the place to go. I only trust Dr. Brauer with my rabbits. He knows what he is doing.

First came here to have a rabbit spayed, which went okay. However, we didn't get out without a demeaning lecture by Dr. Brauer about the dos and don'ts of rabbit care. But okay, I was a first time rabbit owner, and I fully admit that a lot of his tips were helpful, if you ignored the way they were delivered. However, other ones seemed to be crafted just to sell supplies conviently available in the lobby, and an expensive light (for vitamin D, I assume) she very definitely needed to prevent bone problems. We didn't buy it, and six years later, still no bone problems. We later brought in a very sick Guinea Pig, who died under their care. I can't fault them for that, as I don't think anything could've stopped it, but I do take issue with thinly veiled implications it was our fault for not noticing his weight loss, which happened in a very short time span and was difficult to notice just by looking at him in his cage. And finally, I really take issue with his recommendations of Iams, Purina, Royal Canin, and Hills dog foods. I'm certainly not a canine nutrition expert, but everything I've ever read has never had anything good to say about any of those foods. That they happen to be for sale in the lobby makes me even more critical of the recommendation. On the plus side, the office is beautiful and the staff is usually nice, save the vet himself, who varies from visit to visit. However, I'd say that impressive office was made possible by the exorbitant prices charged for even the most mundane things, and the sales tactics they employ for foods and other items. Oh, and be prepared to wait. Only once have we never had to wait at least an hour, and it left us genuinely stunned to be called back so soon.
