This department will not treat you fairly. I had an altercation with my neighbor (a Wayne county sheriff) who pulled a gun on me and threatened my dogs. I call the police and they yell at me for lies he told about my dogs jumping on the fence. They never even bothered to go look and see that the fence is white and there are no paw prints. And they refused to talk to any other neighbors or the mail carrier who knew my dogs were so gentle she'd get licks from them. Nice police work! They were laughing and joking with him. Next time the guy threatens to kill my dogs again, I call the police, they laugh it up with him again. I had to move because I couldn't live in a place where the police won't protect you. My grandfather a former DHPD officer. He would be ashamed of this department.

The officers here need to work on their communication skills, I was not physically at the department but in the city trying to visit my mother. I ended up being surrounded by patrol cars on a residential street, then being told I needed to get out of there and LITERALLY could not, they were everywhere and I could not get through with my car. I was being told they were investigating something and were busy, so they couldn't move their vehicles so I could pass. But not to busy to try to direct me to back up, go up this drive way, turn around again, don't hit this car in the process, and squeeze through two cars parked way to close to each other. When all they needed to do is move one of their cars over so I could go through, all while I'm shaking and crying in hopes of not hitting another car especially one of theirs. And all they could say is trust me I'm a police officer, and did I mention I had a 3 year old in the car that was frightened because I was.. I understand it doesn't seem like a big deal but at that moment it was.

It's odd to be writing a 5 star review for a police department that arrested me, but, here we are. I was pulled over for a traffic violation and wound up having a Wayne County bench warrant. From the moment I was stopped for the violation to the moment I was released on Bond, all the members of this department that I interacted with were the epitome of professionalism. A few went out of their way to make a very bad day, slightly less bad. Not that I would recommend doing anything to get arrested..

Okay get this... Neighbor’s dog is barking at 1am... He’s been barking for an hour before that, It’s now 2 am at the time im writing this... At 1:40 i called the police department and I told them that the neighbor’s dog has been barking for an hour and I’m worried that something is wrong... The lady tells me they’re sending someone to check on it... Ten minutes later a police car showed up, they get down n knock on the door but no one answers, so they go to the backyard and then go back to the car, with one of them saying “ nothing we can do” as I was watching them from my window... So they sit in the car for 5-7 minutes and then just leave... The dog is still barking at this moment and it’s very cold outside... I guess the cops don’t care... To be honest when I read the google reviews I was like “ I don’t think this is true”, but you know what? After seeing it with my own eyes and listening with own ears, I can say that the reviews are true and the Dearborn Heights Police Department need to check on this... And the dog is still barkinggggg!
