This page exists to inspire, motivate and educate the community of the City of Decatur so that they might enjoy healthier, happier and safer lives.

Story

Fire departments have always been on the forefront of fire prevention. Because of this proactive strategy we have seen a dramatic decrease in loss of life and property from fires. Today's "fire" department is facing many, many different threats to the well-being of our community. We respond to medical illness emergencies, motor vehicle collisions, entrapment, hazardous materials incidents, victims of violent crime, victims of domestic violence, environmental emergencies and numerous other scenarios. In order to have the safest possible environment for our city, we have to be proactive on all of these fronts so that we aren't responding to the emergency when it's too late. Through the use of social media, we hope to expand our message of health, wellness and safety to ensure the best possible quality of life for all of the community of Decatur.

Decatur Fire Rescue is committed to providing the highest level of care through emergency response and community services that make the City of Decatur experience safe and pleasant for all.
