My daughter suffers form anemia. I always tell my children to always reach out no matter what. I know she has extreme menstrual pain but today was different. I received a call from her nurse stating that she didn't look good and my daughter could barely keep her head up. I rushed my daughter to the emergency room which had a million people, I was then advised to go to her pediatrician so they could possible give a script for an a possible transfusion because her levels had clearly dropped. During the visit it was dtermined that her level had went form a 7.7 the week prior to a 6.7. They called the ambulance immediately. I must say that Mika Story and Robert Blayne are both absolutely amazing individuals. They were able to keep my daughter calm and myself in the interim. We were taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Egleston Hospital. My daughter was admitted and she did have to get a blood transfusion. I am so grateful they came so quickly and kept us calm as well. They signify the definition of the word "Hero". Thank you Mika and Robert, I will never forget you wonderful gentleman!
I called 911 to report I felt like I was having a full heart attack. When they came, the lead man tried to get me to calm down. I have clinical anxiety, so that didnt work. He proceeded to make light of my panic attack and showed little compassion for me. When I told them about my medication, they questioned my diagnosis, saying the medicine only does that to people that don't have the condition. I literally have had brain scans included in my diagnosis, thank you. And further they confirmed that my vitals were normal, but I was obviously still out of it. They asked me if I wanted to ride in the ambulance and proceeded to question me like normal, even though I am pretty much having a straight up panic attack. I told them I had family coming by to look after me, so they pretty much just left, said "good luck" and never heard from them again. There was no compassion, and they pretty much made light of my predicament. This just goes to show that mental health is not taken seriously and I will be hesitant to call this services in the future. Compassion should be shown in all cases, be it mental health or physical health.
Henry County Fire Department has the most friendly, humorous, patient and caring individuals working in its department. I am a bariatric patient with several health issues and need to call EMS to assist me on a regular basis. I never feel judged or am treated badly by an staff member. They always put me at ease and reassure me that I'm not a burden. I was released from the hospital two days ago without the medical equipment I needed at home. If it weren't for the EMS team that came to assist me I don't know what condition I would be in now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do!!
We had a fire lastnight inside our stove, and I have 4 kids and they are all under 2 !! The firemen were so caring; they gave my babies teddy bears to soothe the time ! Thank you so much!! Henry county did not only keeping us safe but making it comfortable for my kids and I ! Henry county the MVP
I live and Hampton Point Apartments in McDonough. About a week in a half ago I came home to all the lights out in my unit. I was alarmed and reached out to the neighbor under me and asked if the light went out over here. He let me know it did and that was that. Later that night however, it was like it was a ghost running through the apartment playing with the lights. It was very powerful surges of electricity coming through and it blew out just about every light blubs. The only electricity that properly function was in the spare room but that didn't last long before the light that was powered on kept blowing out. You could hear this noise before the bulb would blow. Sounded like a firecracker almost. I went back and forth to the breaker box, heck I didn't know. I put 3 blubs in that lamp and they all blew with each surge of energy! I eventually shut the breakers off completely and spent the night in the dark, worried that I was going to burn up. When I called maintenance I told him about what was going on and that the lights were out when I got home and what the neighbor said. He then says that, "ole there power went out under you bcuz of a faulty surge protector they plugged in and that were not even on the same somethiing and that, that shouldn't effect me. He basically brushed me off and told me to call Georgia power. When I explain to Georgia power about what was going on, they were immediately alarmed and said they could send someone but he could only access the outside. The agent even said that based on what I stated maintenance said that he should've been alarmed! I mean I told him about the blubs blowing and everything. Several lights were blown as well as tv and the neighbors as well. The neighbors below me were experiencing the same thing. We all were upset about this because it was just us. No one else in the unit. I knocked on door and no one lies were flickering or going in and out. Maintenance had knowledge of what was going on over here and it took these ppl almost a week to get over here only after I went off. Georgia power has come out and has stated that it's something inside bcuz everthing outside is notmal. Now today may 5th, I get home to all the power out. Knock on the neighbors door directly under me and they stated that the same thing happened and that it's fried the the wires of a clock that they can't use anymore! This has got to be a fire hazard! I asked did they call up front and he said yes and they told them someone would be over but never ever showed! I'm concerned that I might burn up and die with my kids as well as the others here! No one seems to care, but if this building catches on fire, then we will probably get something done! But it shouldn't take that. I'm reaching out for help.
