Deer Creek Lodge is a great choice when choosing a retreat for family or friends. The large open areas and welcoming environment and staff make anyone feel right at home. Our family attended during the winter months which kept a lot of guests indoors playing games and chatting around an warm fire. The indoor pool and game room allow for fun all day even when it is cold. The lodge has many windows offering great views, but can unfortunately make those otherwise cosy rooms a bit too chilly. It would also be wise for the lodge to have and enforce a version of quiet hours as kids enjoyed roaming the halls late playing games rather than remaining in designated gaming areas. Overall, this lodge would make my list of a choice family getaway.

I stayed here for 2 weeks while attending a national training course. The setting of the lodge is lovely, and my room offered a great view of the lake. I saw lots of wildlife (birds, woodchucks, raccoons, and deer) from my balcony, and the room was very comfortable. I also really enjoyed the walking trails around the lodge. However, the restaurant leaves much to be desired. The food was mediocre at best and severely overpriced (and there isn't much nearby, so you're all but forced to eat there if you're staying for a while...) The servers were all friendly, but every order was returned incorrectly. The walls in the rooms were very thin, so I could hear *everything* happening in my neighbor's rooms. They were also replacing the carpet while we were there, and the whole affair was a stinky, dusty, noisy mess. Also woke up to undrinkable pink water one day, but the hotel did provide us with some bottled water to drink. Some of the staff were quite friendly, but there were a few that were downright rude.

Great family getaway. Plenty of things to do for kids of all ages, although obviously not as much for younger kids. We were only disappointed by the fact we couldn't rent bikes because there were no kids seats or tow-behinds for our 2 year old. Great indoor and outdoor pool, the lodge was comfortable and had plenty of things to do for everyone including a playground. The lake was amazing and lots of unique things to rent and enjoy on the lake. Lodge also had beautiful views of the lake and nature. We loved how far back from the road or any civilization it was. Really made us feel like we were camping without actually camping. Overall great and relaxing vacation.

We love this place! Everything is right in one place(when you're here during a snow storm that's important). Restaurant, bar, pool/hot tub, game room, and more. The view is stunning!

This facility has a lot of potential however cleanliness is definitely not priority secondly poorly maintained. My recommendation is Haier more maintenance guys in a better cleaning crew in this place would be fantastic. We had power issues in our room there is a 6 by 12 hole in the wall. The dolly for bringing your luggage in has flat tires bathroom had a couple hairs still there from the previous people. The front door Slams on you. They give a really good impression with their Lobby it looks beautiful but it's such a let-down when you walk into the room.
