Story

Halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier national parks, Deer Lodge KOA is located in a valley next to the Clark Fork River where mountain men and Native Americans once trapped and traded. Ruins of ghost mining towns are a short drive from here. Tour the Grant-Kohrs Ranch, formerly the property of one of Montana's wealthiest cattle barons. Don't miss the Old Montana Prison museums. Golf at the nearby course with a spectacular view of Mount Powell. Sleep cozily in a heated Cabin or pitch a tent on an expansive grassy area. Swim for free in the municipal Olympic-size pool nearby in town (open evening hours) or enjoy playing horseshoes and badminton. This KOA is dog friendly with playgrounds, fire pits and free Wi-Fi.

Went last summer, the trailer/camper tent spits could use some more room for each, with our camper and tent we barely fit on the spot. We fished the Little River like the KOA brochure said we could and there had been fish caught out of it, but we spent hours and there wasn't anything, the staff was nice and the kitchen utilities included we're a plus, but the Kamp itself needs a little more pizzaz

Acceptable. Decent enough showers. GO TO THE BREW PUB IN TOWN. The prison tour is great for the included car museum.

Stayed here 5 nights in our 35 foot fifthwheal. It was nice and quiet. Lots of stuff do do and see in the area. The campground was fairly nice and right next to the river. Although the RV park/campground is in the middle of a older part of town it is a frendly place to stay. Workers were certious and helpful. The laundry room and shower areas were all very clean and well kept. The cabins looked nice too. We went to the Grant Ranch National Historical Site here and enjoyed it. We also saw the old Montana prison and car show. What a great experience it was.
