I would give this place 5 stars because I don't always win lol. Besides that this is a nice casino only a few hours from Houston. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. When they have horse races the party is over the top.

This was my first time returning here since October last year. I checked into my already reserved room which was a King sized non smoking. I love the reception each time I go the staff at the desk, housekeeping , in the grill, buffet and on the casino floor treat me like a Queen. I kid you not, smiles, bowing, and wishing me luck in all my plays. At first I thought they did this for everyone so I stood back to watch and you know they did but mine was with a lot of enthusiasm. The bed is so comfortable and the light weight comforter is inviting but I like the room a little cool so I called for a blanket and here this staff member shows up half bowing with a genuine smile handing me the softest blanket. So many positive experiences and by the way the majority of the machine coughed up money....I am so grateful for the valet service and at night when I'm not in the casino I sit on the relaxing chair with ottoman and watch them as they park the cars while picking up others. This is my mini vacation I take each month they offer me a free one night stay.

Stopped by for a little diversion while I was traveling. A lady in Texas recommended delta downs 
  First , the employees, from the valet runners,  to the bartenders,  security to floor folks.  Everyone one was happy and courteous.  And I don't mean the fake courtesy but honest heart felt courteous.  Instantly impressed. 
  Good selection of games , but didn't have my favorite . Maybe in the future ! 
  The not so great was I found some of my go to games to be higher bets with lower payouts  per combination then what I have played in the past.  But hey, can't all be the same right ?
    Though I never once got so much as 10 cents a head . Of what I came in with. The games seemed to let you play for a while with some ups and downs. 
  So all in all, an enjoyable time. Good coffee, 
  Have to come by on my next trip through in another month or so.  .

The arena we sat in to watch Josh Turner was nice. It was kind of cold though, but it was large. I like the amount of places they had for you to eat at, so you might wouldn't feel like you had to eat at the same place constantly. The steakhouse there was great. I was just really disappointed in the casino area. I get it's busy, but it's so messy. It was kind of nauseating.

Customer service was great, the facility did seem a bit dated, the buffet was okay and served the purpose, the price was not bad either.  I guess it was casual day. I had a hard time telling employees from guest.  I'm use to the staff at gold nugget.
