I just got off of the phone with Mr. Akwara and not a minute too soon. I called to follow up on an open house that ended an hour earlier than it was scheduled to today (Jan 19, 2014). I arrived at the property at 3:30 (it was scheduled to end at 4), and the person at the front desk stated that the open house ended at 3:00 for reasons unknown to him. He was nice enough to call the person who's number he had one file for the unit, but that person stated he was "no longer interested in showing the unit." After running errands, I called Mr. Akwara at 4:45 later that afternoon to see about other times to view the unit considering the open house ended early. He stated the open house lasted until 4, and I corrected him informing him I was there at 3:30 and it was already over by then. His response was, "Well, I don't know why you're calling me over an hour later. You should have called me then." After I described what had actually happened in terms of the timing of the open house and my interaction with the front desk, he became even more argumentative - as if I was doing something wrong by following up with him and asking about another viewing. If this is how he handles open houses (or fails to in this case), I can't imagine the subpar service and professionalism with which he manages and/or sells units. Save yourself the time and effort - go with another agent/company!
